Temple Institute: Rosh Chodesh Tammuz & the Rebellion of Korach

Rosh Chodesh Tammuz & the Rebellion of Korach

Tammuz 3, 5766/June 29, 2006

Rosh Chodesh, the sighting of the new moon marking the beginning of the Hebrew month was celebrated in The Holy Temple with special Rosh Chodesh offerings. To this day it is marked in our daily prayer with the singing of the Hallel and the Musaf service. It is a also understood to be a unique opportunity to do teshuva - make repentance. The month of Tammuz, a month associated with the divine quality of harsh judgment, is the month during which the twelve princes of the tribes of Israel sent by Moses spent their days studying the land and its inhabitants from up close. Having left the Israelite encampment of the last day of the month of Sivan, they would not return to report to Moses until the ninth day of the month of Av, a full forty days later. Each and every day of the month of Tammuz was spent compounding their sin. As recompense, G-d decreed that the months of Av and Tammuz would from that day forth be replete with disaster and tragedy for the Jewish people. While the month of Av begins in darkness, a spiritual upturn does occurs on the fifteenth day of the month. The month of Tammuz, however, remains bitter from start to finish, complicit, as it were, with the impending disaster of the destruction of the Holy Temple. So it is fair to say that Rosh Chodesh Tammuz is an especially propitious time for doing teshuva, as part of our desire to regain control of our destiny, and rebuild G-d's Holy Temple.

What does all this have to do with Korach, the antagonist of this (past) week's Torah reading by the same name? (Numbers 16:1 - 18:32) To learn that answer to this question, we urge you to listen to this week's Temple Talk broadcast, with Rabbi Chaim Richman and Yitzchak Reuven.

Temple Institute: The Land of Great Love

Sivan 23, 5766/June 19, 2006

Shlach lecha - "send for yourself" spies into the Land of Israel - the curious opening words of this week's Torah reading, Shlach, (Numbers 13:1 - 15:41) already point to the question that lurks behind the mission of the twelve spies: Why did Moses send them? "Send for yourself" G-d tells Moses: If you feel the necessity to send spies to search out the land in anticipation of entering and conquering the land, then by all means do so. G-d has many times before promised the Land of Israel to the Children of Israel. Certainly Moses' intention in sending the princes of the twelve tribes was not to seek out evidence as to whether or not G-d could deliver on His promise. Moses'intention, it would seem, was to spiritually prepare the land for the incoming nation, as well as to prepare the nation to take on the unique challenge of the land.

For over a year G-d has led the Israelites throughout the wilderness, providing for them their every need: food in the form of manna, and a constant source of water from Miriam's well. Their clothes not only did not become threadbare, but they grew to fit their bodies. Their shoes remained intact, and the cloud of glory kept the people out of harm's way. The desolate wilderness was for this generation an idyllic environment.

Not so the Land of Israel. It was filled with other nations that would need to be conquered. The land needed to be worked in order for it to bring forth sustenance. Wells needed to be dug, clothing needed to be woven, and new shoes needed to be fashioned when the old ones wore out. Why the great dissonance between the protected environment of the wilderness and the fend-for-yourself reality of the land. What promise was there in the Promised Land?

There are two kinds of love which characterize the love which unites the G-d of Israel with the people of Israel. One is called ahavat olam - everlasting love. The other is called ahava raba - great love. Everlasting love describes the love with which G-d enveloped the Children of Israel in the wilderness. This was an all encompassing protective love with which G-d embraced the people. Everlasting love provides much and demands little in return. It is a placid love, other-worldly by nature. It is a love that cannot transcend the very opposing forces of this world, the world that G-d created for us. A world comprised of both hesed - unmitigated loving kindness, and gevurot - the harsh limitations of judgement.

The Land of Israel is the Promised Land indeed: it is this world in its highest and most rarified embodiment: this world par excellence! The Land of Israel is the land of hesed and gevurot - give and take away. The love which binds the Children of Israel to the G-d of Israel in the Land of Israel is known as ahava raba - great love! Unlike ahavat olam - everlasting love - ahava raba gives and yet demands in return. And just how much of us does it demand? The entirety of ourselves: our heart, our soul and all our earthly might. And only in this world, in the Land of Israel, have we been blessed with what it takes to reciprocate G-d's great love for us.

Listen to this week's Temple Talk as Rabbi Chaim Richman and Yitzchak Reuven explore the meanings of everlasting love and great love, and the reason why Moses enlisted the twelve princes of Israel to spy out the land.

Aaron Klein: Al Aqsa official: Jewish temples existed

WND Exclusive FROM WND'S JERUSALEM BUREAU
Al Aqsa official: Jewish temples existed
Says proof passed down over the centuries by mosque custodians

Temple Mount in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM – Contradicting most of his colleagues, a former senior leader of the Waqf, the Islamic custodians of the Temple Mount, told WorldNetDaily in an exclusive interview he has come to believe the first and second Jewish Temples existed and stood at the current location of the Al Aqsa Mosque.

The leader, who was dismissed from his Waqf position after he quietly made his beliefs known, said Al Aqsa custodians passed down stories for centuries from generation to generation indicating the mosque was built at the site of the former Jewish temples.

He said the Muslim world's widespread denial of the existence of the Jewish temples is political in nature and is not rooted in facts.

"Prophet Solomon built his famous Temple at the same place that later the Al Aqsa Mosque was built. It cannot be a coincidence that these different holy sites were built at the same place. The Jewish Temple Mount existed," said the former senior Waqf leader, speaking to WorldNetDaily from an apartment in an obscure alley in Jerusalem's Old City.

The former leader, who is well known to Al Aqsa scholars and Waqf officials, spoke on condition his name be withheld, claiming an on-the-record interview would endanger his life.

While the Islamic leader's statements may seem elementary to many in the West, especially in light of overwhelming archaeological evidence documenting the history of the Jewish temples and description of services there in the Torah, his words break with mainstream thinking in much of the Muslim world, which believes the Jewish temples never existed.

"I am mentioning historical facts," said the former leader. "I know that the traditional denial about the temple existing at the same place as Al Aqsa is more a political denial. Unfortunately our religious and political leaders chose the option of denial to fight the Jewish position and demands regarding Al Aqsa and taking back the Temple Mount compound. In my opinion we should admit the truth and abandon our traditional position."

The leader said his conclusion that the Jewish temples existed does not forfeit what he calls "Islamic rights" to the Temple Mount and Al Aqsa Mosque.

"Yes, the temple existed. But now it is the place of the mosque of the religious who came to complete the divine religion [that started with Judaism] and to improve humanity," said the leader.

"We believe that Islam is the third and last religion. It came to complete the monotheistic message. The mosque is here at the place of the temple to serve for the same purpose, for the work Allah"

Al Aqsa Mosque built by angels?

The First Temple was built by King Solomon in the 10th century B.C. It was destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 B.C. The Second Temple was rebuilt in 515 B.C. after Jerusalem was freed from Babylonian captivity. That temple was destroyed by the Roman Empire in A.D. 70. Each temple stood for a period of about four centuries.

The Jewish Temple was the center of religious Jewish worship. It housed the Holy of Holies, which contained the Ark of the Covenant and was said to be the area upon which God's "presence" dwelt.

The temple served as the primary location for the offering of sacrifices and was the main gathering place in Israel during Jewish holidays.

The Temple Mount compound has remained a focal point for Jewish services over the millennia. Prayers for a return to Jerusalem have been uttered by Jews since the Second Temple was destroyed, according to Jewish tradition. Jews worldwide pray facing toward the Western Wall, a portion of an outer courtyard of the Temple left in tact.

The Al Aqsa Mosque was constructed in about 709 to serve as a shrine near another nearby shrine, the Dome of the Rock, which was built by an Islamic caliph. Al Aqsa was meant to mark what Muslims came to believe may have been the place at which Muhammad, the founder of Islam, ascended to heaven during a dream to receive revelations from Allah.

Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Quran. Islamic tradition states Mohammed took a journey in a single night from "a sacred mosque" – believed to in Mecca in southern Saudi Arabia – to "the farthest mosque" and from a rock there ascended to heaven. The farthest mosque later became associated with Jerusalem.

Muslims worldwide deny the Jewish temples ever existed in spite of what many call overwhelming archaeological evidence, including the discovery of Temple-era artifacts linked to worship, tunnels that snake under the Temple Mount and over 100 ritual immersion pools believed to have been used by Jewish priests to cleanse themselves before services. The cleansing process is detailed in the Torah.

According to the website of the Palestinian Authority's Office for Religious Affairs, the Temple Mount is Muslim property. The site claims the Western Wall, which it refers to as the Al-Boraq Wall, previously was a docking station for horses. It states Muhammed tied his horse, named Boraq, to the wall before ascending to heaven.

In a previous interview with WorldNetDaily, Kamal Hatib, vice-chairman of the Islamic Movement, claimed the Al-Aqsa Mosque was built by angels and that a Jewish Temple may have existed but not in Jerusalem. The Movement, which works closely with the Waqf, is the Muslim group in Israel most identified with the Temple Mount.

"When the First Temple was built by Solomon – God bless him – Al Aqsa was already built. We don't believe that a prophet like Solomon would have built the Temple at a place where a mosque existed," said Hatib.

"And all the historical and archaeological facts deny any relation between the temples and the location of Al Aqsa. We must know that Jerusalem was occupied and that people left many things, coins and other things everywhere. This does not mean in any way that there is a link between the people who left these things and the place where these things were left," Hatib said.

'True' Islamic tradition affirms temples

But the former senior Wafq leader told WND "true" Islamic tradition relates the Jewish temples once stood at the site of the Al Asa Mosque. He said Al Aqsa custodians passed down history over the centuries indicating the mosque was built at the site of the former Jewish temples.

"[The existence of the Jewish Temple at the site is obvious] according to studies, researches and archaeological signs that we were also exposed to. But especially according to the history that passed from one generation to another – we believe Al Aqsa was built on the same place were the Temple of the Jews – the first monotheistic religion – existed."

He cited samples of some stories he said were related orally by Islamic leaders:

"We learned that the Christians, especially those who believed that Jesus was crucified by the Jews, used to throw their garbage at the Temple Mount site. They used to throw the pieces of cotton and other material Christian women used in cleaning the blood of their monthly cycle. Doing so they believed that they were humiliating, insulting and harming the Jews at their holiest site. This way they are hurting them like Jews hurt Christians when crucifying Jesus.

"It is known also that most of the first guards of Al Aqsa when it was built were Jews. The Muslims knew at that time that they could not find any more loyal and faithful than the Jews to guard the mosque and its compound. They knew that the Jews have a special relation with this place."

Temple Mount: No-prayer zone

Currently, even though the Jewish state controls Jerusalem, the Waqf serve as the custodians of the Temple Mount under a deal made with the Israeli government that restricts non-Muslim prayer at the site.

The Temple Mount was opened to the general public until September 2000, when the Palestinians started their intifada by throwing stones at Jewish worshipers after then-candidate for prime minister Ariel Sharon visited the area.

Following the onset of violence, the new Sharon government closed the Mount to non-Muslims, using checkpoints to control all pedestrian traffic for fear of further clashes with the Palestinians.

The Temple Mount was reopened to non-Muslims in August 2003. It still is open but only Sundays through Thursdays, 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., and not on any Christian, Jewish or Muslim holidays or other days considered "sensitive" by the Waqf.

During "open" days, Jews and Christian are allowed to ascend the Mount, usually through organized tours and only if they conform first to a strict set of guidelines, which includes demands that they not pray or bring any "holy objects" to the site. Visitors are banned from entering any of the mosques without direct Waqf permission. Rules are enforced by Waqf agents, who watch tours closely and alert nearby Israeli police to any breaking of their guidelines.

The former senior Waqf leader said the Jewish temples have lost their purpose:

"As we are the religion who are here to correct everything that was before us there is no need for the Temple. Allah chose Islam as its final and favorite religion."

The Temple Institute: Heeding the Divine Call

Sivan 17, 5766/June 13, 2006

When an opportunity comes our way, we must be ready to grab it. All the more so when it is nothing less than an opportunity to fulfill a Divine promise. The Torah reading of Beha'alotcha, (Numbers 8:1-12:16), opens thusly:

"G-d spoke to Moses, telling him to speak to Aaron and say to him, 'When you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall illuminate the menorah.'Aaron did so, lighting the lamps to illuminate the menorah, as G-d commanded Moses." (Numbers 8:1-3)

Our sages tell us that Aaron was dejected after he had not been called upon to join the princes of the other twelve tribes of Israel to bring offerings at the occasion of the dedication of the altar, as narrated in the previous chapter of Numbers. Therefore G-d called upon Moses to assign to Aaron the task of lighting the Menorah. G-d wanted Aaron to know that lighting the Menorah is a task far greater than the bringing of these offerings. What, in fact, was so lofty about lighting the Menorah lamps? And why does the Torah go on to record that "Aaron did so." Of course he did! Would we have suspected otherwise? After all, Aaron is the High Priest, whose sacred task is to serve Hashem, and nullify his own will before that of the Creator. What is the Torah trying to tell us?

Later on in this same Torah portion we encounter an episode of a very different nature:

"The mixed multitude among them began to have strong cravings, and the Israelites once again began to weep. 'Who's going to give us some meat to eat?' they demanded. 'We fondly remember the fish that we could eat in Egypt, for free, along with the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic. But now our spirits are dried up, with nothing but the manna before our eyes.'" (Numbers 11:4-6)

After more than a year long diet of the miraculous, heaven-sent manna, why the sudden longing for "meat... fish... cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic?" What is really going on here? At this point, the children of Israel were poised to enter into the Promised Land. In just three days time they would leave the desert and its difficulties behind them forever. Why the last-minute bout of nostalgia romanticizing the very same Egyptian bondage that had plunged the Israelites into such a dangerous depth of impurity, that we are taught that had G-d waited even one more day to deliver them, they would have been lost forever? Were the cucumbers really that tasty? If the Egyptians took every opportunity to browbeat the enslaved Jews, and did not even give them the straw they needed to produce their quota of bricks, did they really provide them with food "for free?"

What distinguishes the nature of Aaron, who "did so," from that of the grumbling multitude? The answer takes us all the way back to the very beginning of time. In the opening verses of Genesis, each act of Divine creation is followed by the simple declaration: "And it was so." Each act, that is, with the following exception: the creation of light. The creation of light received no such confirmation… until the very day that G-d commanded Aaron to light the Menorah lamps, and "Aaron did so." Brushing his disappointment aside, Aaron acted when called upon, and thus completed an element of G-d's plan that was his alone to complete, firmly establishing the Divine light of creation that had been hidden since the very first day.

On the other hand, when the people were about to enter the land of Israel, and at long last have the opportunity to fulfill the Divine task allotted to each and every one of them, both as individuals and as a nation, they grew cold feet! Suddenly, enslavement in Egypt and a life void of (or "free" from) the obligations of fulfilling G-d's will had so great an appeal that they cried out bitterly, and railed against their own Divinely appointed destiny to become b'nei Torah - children of Torah.

Who shall we choose to be? Are we like Aaron, longing to be called upon? Listening intently for a voice of instruction that emanates from the very origins of time? Or are we like the multitude, drowning out the Divine call in our own cacophony of self-doubt and self-importance?

Listen to this week's Temple Talk, as Rabbi Chaim Richman and Yitzchak Reuven discuss these issues at length, and much more. Also, listen to our special guest, Ed, whose life took a turn when he discovered that both he and his wife are descendants of the anusim or crypto-Jews, whose ancestors were compelled by the Spanish Inquisition some 500 years ago to convert to Catholicism.

With blessings,
Yitzchak Reuven

Temple Institute: The Generation of the Desert

The Generation of the Desert

Sivan 9, 5766/June 5,2006

The Book of Numbers opens with a description of the physical layout of the Israelite encampment at the foot of Mount Sinai. In the center stands the mishkan - the tabernacle - surrounded by the dwellings of the Levite families whose responsibility it is to tend to the tabernacle and its vessels. On the four sided perimeter of the encampment are the dwellings of the twelve tribes. Three tribes each encamp on each of the four sides: east, west, north and south. Side by side they dwell, each tribe bearing its own distinct standard. The nation is secure from enemies without, and facing toward the tabernacle and the shechinah - the presence of Hashem from within. The cloud of glory accompanies the Israelites. When it departs, the nation strikes their tents. When it draws nigh, the nation sets up camp. Even the heathen prophet Bilaam recognized the sanctity of the Israelite nation. He uttered these words which Jews repeat every day in the morning service: "How good are your tents, Yaakov; your dwelling-places, Yisrael." (Numbers 24:5) Our sages teach us that perched upon a mountain top, Bilaam was struck by the fact that the Israelite tents were staggered in such a manner as to ensure modesty: peering out one's own tent, one could never accidently look into another's.

A level of peace and tranquility has been attained that we today can only dream of and pray for. Yet, as the Book of Numbers unfolds we are witness to ever increasing turmoil within the camp. Envy and greed take hold of certain people. Power struggles and fighting break out. Finally, the entire well-being and destiny of the nation are in jeopardy as the spies bring back an evil report from the promised land. What went wrong? After all, this was the generation that traversed the Sea of Reeds! These were the people that stood at the foot of Mount Sinai and received Torah! These were the children of G-d who ate the manna - food, as it were, from G-d's own table!

The Torah is predicated on the understanding that man - the crown in G-d's creation, the apple of His eye - is only human, in the fullest sense of the word. As humans we make mistakes, we stumble. We are susceptible to fits of foolishness. We separate ourselves from G-d. We let ourselves down. Torah not only sets before us a way of living according to G-d's will, it also prescribes for us ways to extricate ourselves from our own self-laid snares and traps.

This week's Torah reading of Naso (Numbers 4:21-7:89) discusses the matter of the sota - the accused adulteress. This sensitive subject was discussed by Rabbi Chaim Richman at great length on this week's Temple Talk. Our listeners also took an active role in the teaching via the virtual studio. Many insights on many levels were revealed. Many "life lessons" were learned. The subject of the sota is not one which lends itself to the usual encapsulated format of our weekly newsletter. All who wish to learn more are invited to listen to Temple Talk.

Also discussed on Temple Talk were the laws of the nazir - the nazerite, as well as the priestly blessing, (an element of the daily Temple service that continues today), the silver trumpets, the golden menorah, and the copper laver, all of which are referred to in the Torah readings of Naso and Beha'alotcha. To enhance our listeners appreciation, we have included a reference page showing links to pictures and more information.

Blessings from Jerusalem,

Yitzchak Reuven

Jerusalem Day demonstration by Temple Mount Faithful

Be’ezrat HaShem
With the Help of G-d

A Major Historical End-Time Godly Event on Jerusalem Day by the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement on 27 Iyar 5766/25 May 2006

The Faithful Marched to the Temple Mount and Carried with them Two Marble Cornerstones 6 ½ tons each to be Layed on the Temple Mount and Start the Process of the Rebuilding of the Third Temple

The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement undertook a major historical end-time godly event on “Jerusalem Day” on 27 Iyar 5766/25 May 2006. On the morning of this day, the Faithful marched from the “Ammunition Hill”, located in north Jerusalem, to the Temple Mount, the holy hill of G–d, the location of the First, the Second and the Third Temple that, G-d willing and as a result of the campaign of the Faithful Movement will be soon a reality in our lifetime. The Faithful brought with them two marble cornerstones for the Third Temple each 6 ½ tons. They were carried on a big truck, decorated by Israeli flags with the Star of David and the flags of the Temple. All of the marchers followed the truck holding in their hands the flags of Israel and the Temple and banners calling upon the Israeli people and government to purify the Temple Mount and to immediately start the rebuilding of the Third Temple, the end-time holy Temple of the G–d of Israel to be a house of prayer, worship and love between G–d, Israel and all of mankind.

It was not an accident that “Jerusalem Day” was chosen to be the day that this godly event was undertaken. This day, since 1967 has been one of the most important holidays in Israel and commemorates the liberation of the Temple Mount, the Old City of Jerusalem, the City of David and the biblical holy areas of the land of Israel in Judea, Samaria, Gaza, the Golan Heights and the Sinai Peninsula where G-d gave to the children of Israel the Torah and anointed them to be His chosen people, to be a light to the nations and a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. It was in the godly Six Day War 1967 when G–d returned to His people Israel these holy places and in the climax of all of this, The Temple Mount in Jerusalem. G-d did it for a clear purpose: to end the long time of the destruction of His holy Temple since it was destroyed by the Romans in the year 70 C.E., and to open the highlight time of the process of the redemption of Israel that is taking place in Israel at these exciting and critical end-times by the rebuilding of the Third Temple in the lifetime of this generation. G-d gave to our generation the major privilege to be the generation of the redemption of Israel and the liberation of the Temple Mount that was and will be forever the heart and soul of the G-d and the people of Israel and the eternal location of the Shekinah of the G–d of Israel.

We chose this route for our parade because this was the way that the heroic Israeli soldiers of G–d fought in the Six Day War, battle after battle, against the Arab forces which attacked Israel in this war with a clear intention to fulfill their evil longtime dream of destroying Israel. On the “Ammunition Hill” which was filled with huge and strong Arab bunkers took place one of the most heroic battles of the Israeli forces on their way to liberate the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and many of them fell in this battle. The G–d of Israel fought with His Israeli soldiers gave them the victory exactly as He promised: “Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle” (Zechariah 14:13). The Israeli soldiers of G-d fell and were taken to Him with love to dwell together with Him on their lips they swore during the last moments of their lives what their forefathers swore before Jerusalem was destroyed by the Babylonians and the Romans: “If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand be forgotten. If I do not remember you, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy” (Psalm 137: 5&6).

Along the other battles on the way of the Israeli soldiers to fulfill the major exciting dream of the G–d and the people of Israel in the last 2,000 year to liberate the Temple Mount and the biblical Jerusalem from Islamic control and desecration they paid another heavy price of life. Two hundred Israeli soldiers fell on their way to make this dream a reality in the lifetime of our generation. Carried on the wings of the Shekinah of the G–d of Israel they came to the Temple Mount and the biblical Jerusalem. I will never forget this exciting major godly historical moment when we stood with tears of joy in our eyes and hearts, hearing the commander of the Israeli paratroop forces General Mota Goor stating with great excitement: “The Temple Mount is again in our hands”. Almost 2,000 years of destruction, exile, persecution, death, holocausts, wars, the G–d and the people of Israel dreamt to hear this godly historical call of General Mota Goor. When I stood there together with the Israeli soldiers in front of the Holy of Holies that had been covered by the Dome of the Rock the Moslems built when they occupied Jerusalem (this is the rock of Abraham and Isaac which was located in the holy of Holies of the Temple and on this was placed the Ark of the Covenant), I heard the call of G–d Himself calling to my heart: “Build immediately My house and purify My holy hill. Two thousand years of destruction and exile were enough. Don’t wait more. I want to dwell again among My people Israel and now also among all of My creation”. I could also see at this exciting godly moment under the sky that was red from the fire of the critical war that G–d and His angels were a part of it I could see letters of fire when the vision of G–d through His prophet Isaiah appeared suddenly in front of my eyes and covered all of the Temple Mount and the biblical Jerusalem: “And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. And many people shall go and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for from Zion shall go forth Torah, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall decide for many people; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, nor shall they learn war any more. O house of Jacob, come, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.” (Isaiah 2:1-5)

The march of the Faithful Movement with the two cornerstones for the Third Temple on “Jerusalem Day” was an important stage in our godly campaign. We decided to make this call, dream and vision of the G–d of Israel a practical reality in our lifetime. We swore before the G–d of Israel to dedicate our lives for this cause and never to stop until it comes to pass in the life of our generation. When we marched with the two cornerstones along the streets of Jerusalem to Jaffa Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem we felt the presence of G–d so strongly among us. We felt that the spirit of our forefathers that built the Temple in Jerusalem and worshipped our most beloved G–d to honor and to glorify Him were among us. It was so exciting to see with our own eyes how the dream and the prayers of the generation of the destruction for redemption and rebuilding of the Temple became a reality in the life of their decedents. It really was a special godly experience of redemption that Jerusalem never saw in the last 2,000 years. It was an exciting moment in the history of Israel and all the world.

At the plaza of the Jaffa Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem we undertook an important demonstration. Gershon Salomon, the Chairman of the Faithful Movement called on the Israeli government and the people of Israel not to again loose the great redemptional gift that G–d gave us and to immediately purify the Temple Mount from Islamic pagan presence and desecration and to rebuild the Temple of G–d as He expected Israel to do when He returned the Temple Mount in Jerusalem to the sovereignty of Israel in the six Day War. We also called upon the Israeli government to immediately cancel the anti-godly plans of Prime Minister Olmert and President Bush to divide the land of Israel, to evacuate holy Israeli settlements in the biblical areas of Judea and Samaria and not to rebel against the G–d of Israel by founding in these areas and Gaza Strip a so called foreign “Palestinian State” of terror. Gershon warned them to beware of the judgement of G–d as he warned them in His word: “For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring back the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will enter into judgment with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and have divided my land” (Joel 4:1&2). Gershon brought to their attention that the holy land of Israel was given by G–d to Israel only forever in an eternal covenant.

From the Jaffa Gate we marched to the Temple Mount where we swore before the G–d of Israel and His holy mountain not to rest day or night and to continue intensively our holy campaign until the call of G–d to His people Israel to rebuild His house on Mount Moriah will be done by the people of Israel in our lifetime. We shall continue to educate the people of Israel to fulfill in the life of this generation the expectation of G–d from them to be a holy nation, a kingdom of priests and a light to the nations. We shall continue to carry the cornerstones to the Temple Mount that was closed before them because of fear of Islamic and international reaction calling the people of Israel and its government not to fear from any human being but to trust only the G–d of Israel. We swore that the cornerstones which were now rejected from the holy mountain of G–d because of weakness will soon become as G–d promised: “The stone which the builders rejected has become the head stone of the corner. This is the Lord's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes” (Psalm 118:22&23).

In his word at this most holy place Gershon shared with the people of Israel and all the world that this Word and promise of G–d to His people Israel can not be stopped and it is soon to come to pass and to be in the midst of the life of Israel and all of mankind: “And the Lord roars out of Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shake; but the Lord will be a refuge for his people, and a fortress for the people of Israel. And you shall know that I am the Lord your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain; then shall Jerusalem be holy, and no strangers shall pass through her any more. And it shall come to pass on that day, that the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the streams of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall issue from the house of the Lord, and shall water the valley of Shittim. But Judah shall remain for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. For though I have acquitted them, I have not acquitted those who shed their blood. And the Lord dwells in Zion” (Joel 4: 16-2).

Hostility against "Jewish holidays" to be history!

Romans 8:7-8

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

We see some of this hostility hung over into the Millennium and quickly put in check by the King of Kings. All - Jew, Israelite, Gentile - must become converted and have the law written upon the tablets of our hearts and minds, expressed in word and in deed, in attitude and in actions, by the grace of God (Heb. 8:1).

Zechariah 14:17-18

17 And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will be no rain. 18 If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

Thankfully, many others will have a childlike attitude and humbly be excited to learn what they were never taught by their traditional teachers:

Isaiah 2:2-4

2 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days
Thatthe mountain of the LORD’s house
Shall be established on the top of the mountains,
And shall be exalted above the hills;
And all nations shall flow to it.
3 Many people shall come and say,

“ Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways,
And we shall walk in His paths.”
For out of Zion shall go forth the Torah,
And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4 He shall judge between the nations,
And rebuke many people;
They shall beat their swords into plowshares,
And their spears into pruning hooks;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
Neither shall they learn war anymore.

Yeshua's Bride will gladly follow His ways and celebrate the same biblical festivals as Him and avoid unclean ways and pagan holidays like the plague! Such abominations will be history and vain traditions trashed. Yeshua will not be unequally yoked.

I'm happy to announce the biblical Sabbath, the biblical Festivals of the LORD, the biblical ways will be kept throughout all the earth, by ALL nations, under the glorious reign of the King Yeshua - whom some of us honestly call Lord while others take His Name in vain, holding on to their idolatrous traditions of men (1 John 2:4).

Matthew 5:17-19

17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Revelation 22:14-15

4 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

Plea to Diehard Catholics & Protestants to Repent

That way such folks won't fall for what's soon to occur, having been forewarned:

Sorcerer-Pope to Bewitch Europe and Mislead the Masses!

Come Lord Yeshua and destroy the darkness by the light of your Word, as foretold in the Law and the Prophets.

Open Letter to President Bush from Temple Mount Faithful about Ehud Olmert visit

Dear Friend,

This open urgent letter was sent by the Chairman of the Temple Mount Faithful, Gerson Salomon to President Bush 24 hours before his meeting with the Prime Minister of Israel, Ehut Olmert. This is an anti-godly meeting. During this meeting they will discuss and decide about redividing the Land of Israel given by G-d only to His people Israel and to expel tens of thousands of Israelis from the most biblical Jewish areas in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem and to establish a "Palestinian" state. Everyone is called to immediately reject these anti-godly plans. Please read this open letter to President Bush and send it in you name as well to President Bush and to your Senators and Congressmen. Let all of us be with G-d and His people and not against them.

Thank you for all of this, in the name of the G-d and the people of Israel He will bless those who bless Israel.

Your Faithful Servant in Jerusalem,
Gershon Salomon

An Open Urgent Letter to President Bush from the G-d and the People of Israel in Jerusalem

Please don’t join with Prime Minister Olmert in dividing the Land of Israel given by G–d to His people Israel only. Cancel your anti-godly “Road Map”

On the 23rd of May the Prime Minister of Israel, Ehud Olmert, is coming to meet you in a terribly sinful mission. He is coming to you to ask for your support to his anti-godly and sinful plan to divide the Land of Israel given by the G–d of Israel only to His people Israel forever in an eternal covenant that He made with Abraham and his seed Israel more than 4,000 years ago. It was written very clearly in the Torah, the most holy book, that G-d gave to His people Israel in front of the eyes and the attention of all the nations in Genesis 15:18: “In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, To your seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates”.

President Bush, you should know that G–d gave the Land of Israel to His people Israel not accidentally but for a purpose. This is a unique case in the history of all the nations that G–d, the Creator of the universe and the owner of all the countries created a nation, Israel, and gave them a Land and called the Land and the nation Israel in His own Name. This is a covenant with G–d, Israel and the holy Land that He gave them to dwell together with them there and to fulfill an eternal mission to all the world and mankind: “Now therefore, if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own treasure among all peoples; for all the earth is mine; And you shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the people of Israel” (Exodus 19:5&6).

You should know especially now when Prime Minister Olmert is coming to you to ask your support to divide the Land of Israel that G–d will never accept it. It is an evil in His eyes and He warned again and again His people Israel and all the nations to never divide the Land of Israel and that He will judge those who will divide His Land given only to Israel. This warning is even more actual today in a time when G–d is rebuilding His Kingdom together with His people Israel in the holy Land. Please read what G–d said to the prophet Joel: “For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring back the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will enter into judgment with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and have divided my land” (Joel 4:1&2).

This warning is directed not only to you, President Bush, but to Prime Minister Olmert as well. Mr. Olmert is coming to you to ask your permission for a terrible and a sinful plan, which is a clear revolt against the G–d of Israel and His Word, to divide the Land of Israel, Jerusalem and to expel tens of thousands of Israelis from the most holy biblical areas of the Land of Israel in Judea and Samaria. Just a few months ago ten thousands of Israeli were expelled from another holy area of Israel in the Gaza Strip. According to his sinful plan, the intention of Mr. Olmert, is to found a foreign, evil and terror so called “palestinian” state in Judea, Samaria and Gaza where the twelve tribes of Israel lived thousands of years ago in the midst of the Land and the Kingdom of Israel. A so called “palestinian” state and “nation” never existed in the Land of Israel nor in any other place in the world. They are just arabs that invaded the Land of Israel in the early 20th century as a reaction of the Islamic world against the regathering of the Jewish people back to their own historical and godly covenant Land. The return of the Jewish people to their historical and godly Land is fulfillment of prophesy and one of the major godly events which has happened in the life of mankind. Since this time the so called “palestinians” and arab nations have tried again and again to stop the Redemptional godly event in Israel and to destroy the State of Israel.

President Bush, you represent a nation that loves Israel. Please do not accept or support these anti-godly plans of Prime Minister Olmert and don’t bring the American nation and yourself under the judgement of G–d which is soon to come not only on an Israeli Prime Minister who created and wishes to fulfill such an evil plan but maybe especially on you if you support and encourage such a plan. The United States of America was created more than 200 years ago not to be against the G-d and the people of Israel but to stand with and support Israel in her struggle to reestablish the Kingdom of the G-d and the people of Israel in the holy Land of Israel. It is the G–d of Israel Himself that pushed down your popularity among your own people after you created another plan to divide the Land of Israel by the so called “Road Map”. There is only one Road Map. This is the Road Map which G–d gave to Abraham and to his seed Israel more than 4,000 years ago when He sent him to the Land of Israel, the Land that you (President Bush) want to divide now together with Prime Minister Olmert. Please read the Word of G-d and it will save you from mistakes:

“And the Lord had said to Abram, Get out from your country, and from your family, and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you; And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you; and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed. And Abram passed through the land to the place of Shechem, to the terebinth of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land. And the Lord appeared to Abram, and said, To your seed will I give this land; and there he built an altar to the Lord, who appeared to him” (Genesis 12: 1-3, 6 & 7)

President Bush, please obey the Word of the G-d of Israel and the universe as it appears above. Immediately cancel your anti-godly “Road Map” and your plans to divide the Land of Israel and to establish an evil, anti-gody so called “palestinian” state in the midst of the Land of the G–d and the people of Israel. When Mr. Olmert comes to you please reject him and his anti-godly plans and tell him to return immediately to Jerusalem and to ask permission not from you but from the real Leader of all the world who dwells in Jerusalem, the Almighty G–d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Surely He will reject such an evil and anti-godly plan. He will teach him His real Road Map through the covenant that He made with the people and the Land of Israel.

President Bush, G-d promised to bless those who will bless Israel and will curse those who curse Israel. Please obey this Word of G–d and bless Israel so that you and your nation will be blessed. You and Prime Minister Olmert still have an opportunity from G–d to cancel all of these anti-godly plans. Please share this with Mr. Olmert and do not miss this opportunity. Do not be influenced by the materialistic interests of oil, money and power. These has no meaning in the eyes of G–d. Great empires that came against Israel disappeared from the platform of history under the judgement of G-d. Please don’t bring your wonderful country and nation under the judgement and the anger of G–d. Please remember always that only Jerusalem was chosen by G–d to be the Eternal Capital of Himself and His people Israel. And only from Jerusalem as their capital will go out the Word of G–d and His Redemption to the nations and to all the world. And this is the holy place where Prime Minister Olmert should go and ask permission from G–d and not to Washington, D.C. from you.

In the midst of Jerusalem dwells a hill called by G–d Mount Moriah. This is the Temple Mount that G–d chose for Himself and for His people to dwell there. G–d’s Temple was destroyed twice by evil powers, very similar to the Islamic and so called “palestinian” evil powers that still continue to desecrate the hill of G–d in Jerusalem. Their presence together with their pagan shrines represent imperialistic foreign occupation of Jerusalem and the Land of Israel. They are doing everything today by evil and terror ways to stop the Redemption of the Temple Mount and the people and the Land of Israel. You should know that the return of the G–d of Israel to His holy mountain in Jerusalem will not only complete the Redemptional godly event of Israel but will also start the Redemption of all the world and nations.
The Islamic terror war today is not only against Israel but against the Christian world, especially America, whose roots go back to the people and the Land of Israel. This evil will not stop with September 11th. Their goal is to destroy Israel first and then to continue with all the western world, especially America. All the believers in the G–d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob all over the world are called to stand with Israel which is the only obstacle that will stop them from destroying all the western world and Islam dominating all the world.

Everyone should know that the destiny of all the world will be decided on the hill of G–d on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem because G-d dwells there. We are now living in the end-times and G–d expects His people Israel to rebuild His holy Temple on the Temple Mount and to remove the Islamic shrines that have desecrated the holy hill of G–d for such a long time. G–d desires to dwell again amongst His people Israel in His holy Temple and in the midst of all of His creation in Jerusalem. Unfortunately, the leadership of Israel doesn’t understand this. They fear the Islamic evil human being power and do not trust, hear and respect His call to His people Israel to rebuild His house .

“But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow to it. And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for Torah shall go forth from Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge between many peoples, and shall decide concerning far away strong nations; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, nor shall they learn war any more. But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid; for the mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken it” (Micah 4:1-4 and Isaiah 2:1-5)

President Bush, please also listen to this call of G–d and you and your people will have the privilege to be a part of it. A real godly peace and Redemption to all the world including America, which is needed now even more than at any time in the past, will come when this prophetic Word of G-d which is directed to our generation is fulfilled. The evil terror attack of Islam will be defeated and destroyed by the G–d of Israel as He promised by His prophets Ezekiel and Zechariah (Ezekiel 38&39; Zechariah 12&14).

President Bush, please don’t miss the major opportunity that G–d gave you to obey His Word and to be a great President of the United States and to open a major godly, moral and valuable time for your nation and all the world. Thousands of years ago G–d gave such an opportunity to another leader of a great empire, Cyrus the King of the Persian Empire and he obeyed the call of G–d to him to redeem the people and the Land of Israel from exile and to rebuild His Temple in Jerusalem. He answered this call with a great excitement and G–d blessed him and called Him my messiah. Please pay attention to following Word of G–d to Cyrus. It could be the Word to you as well. Just don’t miss the opportunity that G–d is giving you:

“Who says of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure; and saying to Jerusalem, You shall be rebuilt; and to the temple, Your foundation shall be laid. Thus says the Lord to his messiah, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him doors and gates; and the gates shall not be closed; I will go before you, and make the hilly places level; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze, and cut in sunder the bars of iron; And I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel. For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel my elect, I have called you by your name; I have surnamed you, though you have not known me. I am the Lord, and there is no one else, there is no God beside me; I girded you, though you have not known me; That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is no one else. I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil; I the Lord do all these things” (Isaiah 44;28 -45:1-7)

President Bush, you were elected by G–d to be the President of the United States and to fulfill the same task of Cyrus at this critical time in the history of the Redemption of Israel which will open the door for the Redemption of all the world. Unfortunately, you missed it by such anti-godly plan like the “Road Map”and supporting anti-godly plans like the disengagement and now the plan that Prime Minister Olmert is coming to you with. The G–d of Israel is still giving you the opportunity to return to Him, to His real Road Map with Abraham and his seed Israel, and to have an important part in the Redemption of the people and the Land of Israel. Send Prime Minister Olmert back to put all his efforts on the rebuilding of the Land of Israel, Jerusalem and the Temple of G-d on the Temple Mount and to resettle the children of Israel in Judea, Samaria, Gaza and all over the Land that G-d gave to His people Israel and to fulfill His expectations at this critical time of Redemption as He shared them with His prophet Amos:

“Behold, the days come, says the Lord, when the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall rebuild the ruined cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink their wine; they shall also make gardens, and eat their fruit. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be plucked up out of their land which I have given them, says the Lord your God” (Amos 9:13-15)

President Bush, don’t miss this opportunity!

Sincerely,
Gershon Salomon

Temple Mount Faithful "Jerusalem Day" March

The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement

The “Jerusalem Day” March From Ammunition Hill to the Old City of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount by The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement on 27 Iyar 5766/25 May 2006

Please join us on “Jerusalem Day”, the day that memorializes the liberation of the Temple Mount and Jerusalem, the City of David, The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement will march from Ammunition Hill to the Old City of Jerusalem and to the Temple Mount. We chose this route because this is the way that the heroic Israeli soldiers in the Six Day War in 1967 made on their way from the “Ammunition Hill” to liberate the Temple Mount and the Biblical Jerusalem. We shall start this march on the “Ammunition Hill” because on this hill one of the most heroic battles of the Israeli forces took place. Many of them fell in this battle. On their way to liberate Jerusalem they paid a heavy price when 200 Israeli soldiers fell and gave their lives for the liberation of the Temple Mount and Jerusalem. By sacrificing their lives they fulfilled, with the help of G–d, who fought together with them in these heroic battles, the greatest dream of the Jewish people and G–d Himself of almost 2,000 years since the Temple, the Temple Mount and Jerusalem were destroyed by the Romans in 70 C.E. and was taken from the Jewish people for a long, long time. It was an exciting fulfillment of all the comfort prophesies of the prophets of Israel.

The march of The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement will have a special significance on this day. We shall call by this march and the demonstration which will be undertaken at the Plaza of the Jaffa Gate of the Old City on the Israeli Government and the people of Israel not to loose the historical gift that G-d gave us and to immediately save the Temple Mount from Arab control, to immediately stop the destruction and the desecration of the remains of the First and Second Temple by the Arabs on the Temple Mount and to rebuilt the Temple as G–d expected Israel to do when He returned the Temple Mount and Jerusalem to them in the Six Day War.

We shall also demonstrate against the plans of Prime Minister Olmert to divide the land, to evacuate Israeli holy settlements in Judea and Samaria and to found a so called foreign “Palestinian” state of terror in the holy land that was given by G–d only to His people Israel in an eternal covenant forever.

This march will take place on “Jerusalem Day”, Thursday 27 Iyar 5766/ May 25, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. We shall meet at this time at the Ammunition Hill in Jerusalem which is located near Shderot Eshcol (Eshcol Avenue) among the trees which are near the parking area immediately after the main entrance to Ammunition Hill. You can use buses #28, 25 (these start at the Central Bus Station in Jerusalem), 4 or 9.

Everyone is called to come to this important godly march and to have an important part in the main significant event of the “Jerusalem Day”. We will wait for you at the Ammunition Hill!!!!

With the G–d of Israel’s blessings for the redemption of His hill, Jerusalem and the land of Israel.

The Second Passover: A Second Chance

The Second Passover: A Second Chance

Iyyar 11, 5766/May 9, 2006

Passover is a holiday for the entire nation of Israel: men, women, and children, rich and poor, without exceptions. G-d's instructions require everyone to participate. In fact, the requirement to make the Passover offering in the Temple courtyard on the appointed time, (the 14th day of Nissan), is so great that the result of willfully neglecting to do so is caret - the cutting off of the individual from the source of life. So what happens in the case of an individual who is simply unable to bring the offering in time? Who was prevented by circumstances beyond his control? Certain individuals asked this question of Moses in the desert, concerning the very first Pesach that would take place outside of Egypt, at the outset of the second year in the wilderness. The Torah records the exchange:

"There were, however, some men who had come in contact with the dead, and were therefore ritually unclean, so that they could not prepare the Passover offering on that day. During the course of that day, they approached Moses and Aaron. 'We are ritually unclean as a result of contact with the dead,' the men said to [Moses]. 'But why should we lose out and not be able to present God's offering at the right time, along with the other Israelites?' 'Wait here,' replied Moses. 'I will hear what orders God gives regarding your case.' God spoke to Moses, telling him to speak to the Israelites, saying: If any person is ritually unclean from contact with the dead, or is on a distant journey, whether among you [now] or in future generations, he shall still have the opportunity to prepare God's Passover offering. He shall prepare it on the afternoon of the 14th of the second month, and shall eat it with matzahs and bitter herbs. He shall not leave any of it over until morning, and not break any bone in it. He shall thus prepare it according to all the rules of the [regular] Passover offering. However, if a man is ritually clean, and not on a distant journey, and he neglects to prepare the Passover offering, that person shall be cut off [spiritually] from his people. He shall bear his guilt for not offering God's sacrifice at the prescribed time." (Numbers 9:6-13)

Simply put, if a person was prevented from bringing the Passover offering on the 14th of Nissan by events beyond his control, he is given a second chance. Yet the Torah does not make allowances for second chances concerning the other Divine commandments. Why now? Can it be that the Master of the Universe, the Holy One, blessed be He, makes exceptions? Of course He does. In fact, each and every one of us is exceptional in G-d's eyes. And as G-d sees us, so should we see ourselves.

One year earlier, on the fourteenth day of the month of Iyyar, (second Passover), the evil Amalek, may his name be blotted from our memory, saw this as well. This was the very day that evil nation chose to attack the people of Israel. And who did they choose to attack? The weak, the weary, the stragglers behind. Those who had begun to question whether they had it in them; whether they had what it takes to be a free people. For Amalek's plan was to embitter our lives with self-doubt, to slam the door shut on second chances. And what better moment to try and plunge us into gnawing doubt than on this day, the day of "second chances." Amalek saw that the only way to banish the presence of G-d from this world was to make people feel unworthy and incapable of drawing close to Hashem, through the fulfilling of His mitzvot. For if we deem ourselves as failures, as has-beens, we have lost the battle.

So Moses raised his arms heavenward, and the children of Israel thought of their Father in heaven, their spirits were renewed, and the tide of battle was turned. But the struggle against Amalek could not have been won, if G-d Himself hadn't also "upped the ante": G-d declared that on this very day the children of Israel would celebrate their national "second chance" day. For in the knowledge that we are deserving of a second chance to overcome our limitations, our shortcomings, be they self-inflicted or imposed upon us by circumstances beyond our control, we gain the strength to win the day. For we are all exceptional, and all deserving of a second chance.

It is this same battle against the Amalek of self-doubt that is being waged today in Israel, and nowhere is this more clearly visible than on the small parcel of land known as Mount Moriah: the Temple Mount. Are we worthy of a second chance, or not? Our prophets say so. Our sages say so. What do we say? Who are we listening to? To the Master of the Universe, or to the fast-talking salesmen of self-doubt, the Amaleks among us?

Tune in to this week's Temple Talk, as Rabbi Chaim Richman and Yitzchak Reuven discuss Pesach Sheni - the Second Passover, and the battle against giving up on second chances. Hear Rabbi Chaim Richman muse on his upcoming trip to the Temple Mount with ten young yeshiva students. And hear the inspiring thoughts of a G-d fearing Gentile from Budapest, Hungary, who has taken upon himself the task of translating the Temple Institute's website into his native language, Hungarian.

The Third Temple on the Temple Mount

John 4:20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
John 4:21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: WE know what WE worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

Yes, the Gentile Samaritan woman, like many today trapped in a Gentilized "Christianity," have their idolatrous traditions and don't know who or what they're worshipping. However, the Jews in Jesus' day knew that the Word of God did command to worship in Jerusalem as a nation on the biblical festivals, but that individually we are free to worship God anywhere, but the Temple Mount and imminent Third Temple are extra special, for Yeshua even spoke of "the most holy place" prophetically being defiled by Europe's wannabe divine emperor - making a distinction some presently fail to recognize or agree with. I hope and pray such a situation changes, because the Word and Will of God is also expressed through the Prophet Isaiah who reveals the whole world will recognize Jerusalem, the Temple Mount and the Temple as the "most holy place" to learn and worship God (while spiritual Gentiles remain willfully blind to this fact and resist it and suffer the consequences for it as Zechariah warns):

Isaiah 2:1-4

1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days
That the [Temple] mountain of the LORD’s house
Shall be established on the top of the mountains,
And shall be exalted above the hills;
And all nations shall flow to it.
3 Many people shall come and say,

“ Come, and let us go up to the [Temple] mountain of the LORD,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways,
And we shall walk in His paths.”
For out of Zion shall go forth the law,
And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

4 He shall judge between the nations,
And rebuke many people;
They shall beat their swords into plowshares,
And their spears into pruning hooks;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
Neither shall they learn war anymore.

Real Christians recognize Jerusalem's importance

The worship in Jerusalem is not a point of contention among those who wait for the return of the Christ.

You must have never read the Book of Acts and noticed how many apostles were arrested upon the Temple Mount for exercising their God-given freedom of religion, or how Paul exercised his rights as a Roman citizen.

Let the Jews and Muslims contend for rocks.

Mere "rocks" to those without spiritual discernment, Holy Land to those who are learning to think like our transcendent God. Read and believe the Bible and repent of such a self-righteous attitude, since Yeshua is returning to liberate such "rocks" and restore true worship upon the Temple Mount that God has ordained. Christians praying for the return of Christ actively intercede for Jerusalem (Isa. 62:1-2) and witness against the nations that the God of Israel is supreme, and the pagan mosques that pollute the Temple Mount will soon be history, according to the Word and Will of God.

Psalm 102:13-16

13 You will arise and have mercy on Zion;
For the time to favor her,
Yes, the set time, has come.
14 For Your servants take pleasure in her stones,
And show favor to her dust.

15 So the nations shall fear the name of the LORD,
And all the kings of the earth Your glory.
16 For the LORD shall build up Zion;
He shall appear in His glory.

The Temple Institute: Counting Our Days

"This is the day which the L-rd has made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalms 118:24

(from the Hallel prayer to be recited on Yom Ha'atzma'ut)

Sefirat HaOmer: counting our days, telling our stories. Many of the commandments we receive in the Torah and many events related by the Torah involve the act of counting. An example is the past week's Torah reading, Tazriya, in which the new mother is bidden to count her days. Why is the Torah so taken with numbers? A clue can be found in the Hebrew word for counting: saper. It shares the same grammatical root as the word sepor, to tell, and the word for story, sippur.

By counting our days we are really taking stock. And by keeping a mental ledger, we are, in fact, telling our own story: the story of our days. But when does our story begin? Way back in our mother's womb. And where? In the Torah itself. For each of our souls has its ultimate source in the Torah: the blueprint through which G-d formed us. By counting and accounting for our days, we are revealing to ourselves who we are, or at least, who we are meant to be. By using the forty nine days of the Sefirat HaOmer to take stock and work on self improvement, we are writing our own story, one in which we will climb just as high as we can take ourselves. And how high is that? Our sages tell us that our souls have their source in the heavenly sapphire described in Exodus 24:10: "And they saw the God of Israel; and there was under His feet a kind of paved work of sapphire stone, and as it were the very heaven for pureness." The heavenly sapphire, (sapir, in Hebrew), marks our source. But our potential, indeed, is even greater. For our sages continue to tell us that our soul's ultimate destiny is to be found not beneath the throne of heaven, but opposite it. It is simple up to us to "number our days" and strive to be the person G-d intended us to be.

Yom Ha'atzma'ut - Israel Independence Day is tomorrow. Many of us, disillusioned and disappointed by this past summer's self-imposed expulsion and destruction of the thriving communities of Gush Katif and the northern Shomron, are questioning how to mark the day this year. Some ask if we should continue to recognize the day as having spiritual significance. Should we continue, they ask, to recite the Hallel prayer of thanks to Hashem for the miracles he has wrought for us and for the benevolence He has shown us on this day? Perhaps it would do well to recall our own retelling of the Haggada narrative less than three weeks ago, in which the wicked son asks: "What do you mean by this service?" The Haggada instructs us that "By saying you and not including himself as well, he takes himself out of the collective body of the people, and thus denies a basic principle of faith."

"Therefore you, too, must 'set his teeth on edge' and tell him: 'All this is because that which Hashem did for me when I came forth out of Egypt,' for if he had been there, he would not have been redeemed!" Yes, we have been burdened with wicked leaders who by their own deeds certainly do not merit the redemption that G-d has granted us. But the modern state of Israel wasn't G-d's gift to them. It was, and remains, G-d's gift to us all, for we, and not they, are the people of Israel. Heaven forbid we should be embittered toward G-d for the failures of our leaders, which in no small measure are a reflection of our own failures. Perhaps Yom Ha'atzma'ut should be for us a day of stock-taking and recommitment to our own part in the historic role of our people.

Jewish destiny in the land of Israel continues to unfold. The ingathering of the exiles, and the resurgence of vibrant Jewish communities in the land, and the widespread dissemination of Torah knowledge have helped to precipitate an even wider phenomena: the global spiritual awakening of Righteous Gentiles who want to live their lives in the light of the Torah of Israel. Not since two millennia, since the destruction of the Second Temple, have there been so many G-d fearing people the world over crying out for Torah instruction. The recently reestablished developing Sanhedrin in Jerusalem is reaching out to assist this worldwide community.

To learn more about Sefirat haOmer, Yom Ha'atzma'ut, and the concept of Torah observance for Gentiles, listen to this week's Temple Talk, with Rabbi Chaim Richman and Yitzchak Reuven.

Israel Independence Day: Yom Ha'Atzmaut

Beit El´s Rabbi: Independence Day - A Day for Expressing Joy
18:15 May 02, '06 / 4 Iyar 5766
by Hillel Fendel

Rabbi Zalman Melamed - Rabbi of Beit El and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arutz Sheva - delivers a message of happiness for the upcoming Independence Day, despite the State's shortcomings.

Israel's Independence Day is generally celebrated as a joyous religious holiday of thanksgiving in yeshivot and synagogues around the country and the world. Rabbi Melamed [pictured above], one of the leading rabbis in the national-religious public, was asked if our joy should be lessened this year because of the government's destruction of the Jewish communities in Gush Katif. His response was published in the Kumi Ori pamphlet of the Komemiyut organization. Excerpts:

"Our teacher and rabbi, Rav Tzvi Yehuda HaCohen Kook, taught us to distinguish between the government and the State. The establishment of the State opened the gates of the Land of Israel - leading to the Ingathering of the Exiles, the return of the Torah center to the Land, the expansion and stabilization of settlement in the Land of Israel, and continued Aliyah (immigration). All this is because we have a state. There are restrictions here and there, and there are places where we have to struggle, but in general, our bonds with the Land of Israel continue to get stronger. The Land is being built up in the Galilee and the Negev, the Sharon and the Shomron, and elsewhere. All this is a result of our independence.

"We are therefore obligated to thank the Master of the Universe for the good He has bestowed upon us, and for releasing us from the yoke of the nations and enabling us to open the gates of our Land to great Aliyah, and to build ourselves without being influenced by the nations abroad. The percentage of assimilation in the Diaspora is simply catastrophic. This means that our very presence together in the Land of Israel helps strengthen our spiritual status.

"We have criticism of the government's actions, at which we are very angry, and it is hard to simply pass over them. We are also angry, to some extent, at the army and police which carried out this terrible and criminal expulsion of Jews from Gush Katif. But the very existence of the State is a Divine gift on our way to our Redemption, and we have to thank G-d and rejoice in this. "

Asked his opinion about the late Rabbi Shaul Yisraeli's post-Oslo proposal to add a black ribbon to the Israeli flag, Rabbi Melamed said:

"I don't like sadness. I like being happy. I see every difficulty as being a challenge to greater advancement. I understand the feeling, and the fact is that a great rabbi did this during the Oslo period. As for me, I don't have a tendency to express my sadness on this day, but rather the joy and my feeling of thanks to Hashem for His goodness. We have enough sorrow, maybe too much. We have to see the good and the positive, and to view hardships as challenges that will bring only good.

"There is no doubt that even the Gush Katif crisis will strengthen us and our hold on the Land of Israel. We don't see this now, but the good will most certainly come. I like Rabbi Akiva's viewpoint, who smiled when he saw the Roman destruction of Jerusalem - for he knew that out of the destruction would sprout Redemption."

Rabbi Melamed said he understands the negative feelings that come to the fore on this day, but "we don't mourn for the Temple during the Passover seder, and we don't celebrate the Exodus from Egypt on the fast of Tisha B'Av. There is a time for everything, and today is a time for celebration and thanks."
********************************

Israelis, Jews and Christian-Zionists worldwide ought to give thanks to God for fulfilling His promises to restore Judah first to our ancient Jewish homeland, the Promised Land of Israel, to be followed in God's good time by the "Lost Ten Tribes."

May all love Eretz Yisrael, the Land of Israel, so much that other than mere lip service, may the same Israelis, Jews and Christian-Zionists offer their lives as living sacrifices of praise, by confessing and forsaking those personal and national sins that we are warned will lead to foreign occupation of the Holy Land again that Israel may remain free to change, to live and prosper and to fulfill its Manifest Destiny to become a "light to all nations," so help us God.

Beyond Babylon: Europe's Rise and Fall offers the GOOD NEWS that Israel doesn't have to get stomped by the EU jackboot if we have a change of heart and direction. May we celebrate this fact and express our independence from the ways of this world, Egypt, to be free to serve the God of Israel and uphold His constitution: the holy Bible.
