Reopen Rabin assassination file!

"Zion shall be redeemed with justice" (Isaiah)

The Israeli prosecutor of the ALLEGED assassin of Yitzhak Rabin has now publicly expressed doubt and asked questions, raising concerns the real killers still walk free and Shimon Peres got away with murder.

New evidence further PROVES Yigal Amir did not kill Yitzhak Rabin. It's past time Israelis demand: REOPEN THE RABIN FILE. And now with the release of the Kempler video of Yitzhak Rabin's staged assassination, many are doing just that!

Who Murdered Yitzhak Rabin?: The Root & Branch Information Services is serializing the book Who Murdered Yitzhak Rabin?, by Mr. Barry Chamish, with permission of the author, to commemorate the upcoming eleventh anniversary of the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin (November 4, 1995 -- November 4, 2006).

The Bible Says:

"How is the faithful city [Jerusalem] become a harlot. She that was full of justice, righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers. Your silver is become dross, your wine is mixed with water. Your princes are rebellious and companions of thieves; every one loves bribes, and follows after rewards; they judge not the fatherless, neither does the cause of the widow come to them.

Therefore, says the Lord, the Lord of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel: Ah, I will ease Me of My adversaries, and avenge Me of My enemies; and I will turn My hand upon you, and purge away your dross as with lye, and will take away all your allow; and I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counsellors as at the beginning; afterward you [Jerusalem] shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city. Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and they who return of her with righteousness.

But the destruction of the transgressors and the sinners shall be together, and they who forsake the Lord shall be consumed. For they shall be ashamed of the terebinths which you have desired, and you shall be confounded for the garden that you have chosen. For you shall be as a terebinth whose leaf fades, and as a garden that has no water. And the strong shall be as tow, and his work as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them".

Chapter Three: "Dirty Tricks"

While one of Eyal's main purposes was to enroll young idealists and radicalize them, another was to eliminate political leaders. Yitzhak Rabin was not the first victim, just the most permanent. Preceding him was today's prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

One month before Rabin's assassination, on October 5 [1995], another kind of rally took place in Jerusalem. A quarter of a million people gathered to protest the government's "peace" diplomacy. The featured speaker was Binyamin Netanyahu. The sheer size of the protest, which clogged downtown Jerusalem's streets for eight blocks, shocked the promulgators of the "peace" process.

To counterbalance the massive demonstration, two of the ["peace" process] promulgators, former Likud mayor of Tel Aviv Shlomo Lahat and a mysterious Frenchman who had been bankrolling a semi-sophisticated brainwashing campaign on behalf of the "peace" process, Jean Friedman, decided to organize an equally large demonstration in Tel Aviv. Even after busing many thousands of political hacks and youth group members -- a third Israeli Arabs organized to beef up the attendance -- only about half as many people showed up and the prime minister was assassinated there.

As was Netanyahu at the Jerusalem rally. Although it was only a character assassination, it served the same purpose of eliminating him [Netanyahu] from the political arena. And the man behind the assassination was also the same: Shabak officer Avishai Raviv.

The weapon he [Raviv] used was a poster of Rabin wearing a Gestapo uniform which Netanyahu was wrongly accused of having approved. Thus, he [Netanyahu] was later accused of creating the atmosphere which led directly to Rabin's murder. Ironically, it was Rabin himself who made the accusation that Netanyahu was inciting violence, in the Knesset.

The implications are profound. The prime minister is responsible for the Shabak and for approving its activities. Unless the Shabak dared to work behind his back, Rabin approved the Raviv operation, thus signing his own death warrant, and in all likelihood he also approved the use of the poster to humiliate Netanyahu.

Yediot Ahronot, November 19, 1995

According to testimony from Judea and Samaria Council spokesman Aharon Domb; Avishai Raviv along with other Eyal people were seen on the night of the demonstration in Zion Square (Jerusalem), October 5, distributing the poster.

************

Yediot Ahronot, November 20, 1995

Channel One reporter, Nitzan Khen, told viewers of last night's news program that just a few minutes before beginning to broadcast from the demonstration of the right at Zion Square, he was given a leaflet showing Rabin in an
Gestapo uniform by Avishai Raviv.

Khen: "Raviv came up to me with two other people known to me, an Eyal activist and Kach member. They came to the broadcast van and gave me the leaflet. After five or ten minutes Raviv returned to make sure I had broadcast it".

************

Yediot Ahronot, November 12, 1995

Police Captain Yehuda Saidoff: "I concluded that Nitzan Khen has a wild imagination and poor memory for facts. Raviv was more believable to me". Raviv told Saidoff that he received just one copy of the leaflet from a Yeshivah student named Aharon Victor and when he got home, he ripped it up.

************

Yediot Ahronot, November 27, 1995

In Jerusalem yesterday, a 16 year old yeshivah student was remanded for three days for distributing a leaflet of Yitzhak Rabin in an S.S. uniform at the rally in Zion Square. He admitted guilt and said he regretted his actions. According to him, Avishai Raviv was responsible for distributing the leaflet.

************

Ma'ariv, November 27, 1995

The police will question Avishai Raviv on suspicion that he distributed leaflets showing Rabin in an S.S. uniform at the right wing rally at Zion Square. One of the two arrested Yeshivah students had close ties to Raviv. Police will question other yeshivah students to establish the extent of the suspect's ties with Raviv.

At the time of the demonstration, when Rabin was very much alive, the issue of who distributed the leaflet was marginal. It didn't matter who distributed it, the issue was that Netanyahu didn't condemn the blown-up poster and leaflets from the podium. But Netanyahu couldn't and didn't see the posters from the stage. When he tried to explain that fact to the Knesset, Rabin indignantly walked out of the chamber.

And at the time, it seemed he [Rabin] had every right to put on his show of anger. But within two weeks of his death, the public knew about Raviv's role in the Shabak and the issue looked quite different. Nitzan Khen testified at the
Shamgar Commission hearings that Raviv and another Eyal member gave him the leaflet of Rabin in a Gestapo uniform. Rabin was responsible as Defence Minister for Shabak activities. He knew exactly who Raviv and Eyal were.

At a maximum, he [Rabin] approved the poster operation. At a minimum, he knew it was a Shabak ploy to weaken opposition to the peace process. Either way, by walking out of the Knesset while Netanyahu was speaking, he [Rabin] knew he was playing a dirty trick on his political rival.

How could Rabin have sunk that low? I believe he [Rabin] was just following instructions from the foreign, mostly American, forces behind the "peace" process. At that point, Netanyahu was leading Rabin in the polls by over 18% and a crowd exceeding 200,000 in a city [Jerusalem] of fewer than 400,000 Jews had gathered to support him [Netanyahu].

The country [Israel] was not divided in two over "peace". The vast majority had soured on the process. The month before, a Ma'ariv poll revealed that 78% of Israelis wanted a national referendum on whether to carry on the government's "peace" diplomacy. Members of the government were booed whenever they appeared in public, but none more so than Rabin.

In August, 50,000 fans at a soccer game between Israel and Brazil jeered in unison when he [Rabin] arrived. Not long after, he was humiliated when his speech before 1,000 English speaking immigrants was marred by the loudest uniformly loud long boo ever heard in Netanya.

A constant vigil of protesters stood outside Rabin's home in suburban Tel Aviv, but none was so vicious as the Eyal crowd who promised that he and his wife would hang in a public square like the Mussolinis. Eyal was playing a sophisticated game of delegitimizing legal protest through extra-legal extremism.

Raviv and his cohorts could only have gotten away with it with the connivance of the police, which meant the participation of Police Minister Moshe Shahal, the same Shahal who was sending mounted policemen into crowds to club thousands of anti-government demonstrators. Indeed, Raviv was held for questioning by the police for the 'Rabin as Gestapo officer' poster, but as in every previous case where the police questioned him, he was released shortly after to continue his fine work.

The public trusted Nitzan Khen and believed him when he testified to the Shamgar Commission that Avishai Raviv gave him the infamous leaflet. To cover up the truth, Captain Saidoff took the side of the notorious extremist Raviv over that of the respected journalist Khen. This was just a part of a much more wide-ranging pattern of a coverup of Eyal's activities by the police and Justice Ministry.

Marc Weiss writes in The Jewish Press, April 25, 1997:

Apparently, the Israeli Justice Department had been informed of Raviv's true identity and informant status, and was instructed not to bring agent 'Champagne' to trial for his illegal actions".

In a document obtained by The Jewish Press, the Special Branch of the Israeli Police that deals with extremist groups wrote to Raviv on February 21, 1996 informing him that they were closing their files and declining to prosecute him for the charges of "incitement" against the government. Ironically, the document cites "the lack of public interest" in Raviv's provocations as the reason.

This document -- when viewed in light of the fact that it was Raviv's repeated inciting declarations concerning the dire need and biblical permissibility of killing Rabin that laid the very foundation for Yigal Amir's actions -- is startling in its implications. Time and again, Raviv was permitted by the State Prosecutor's office to continue on with his campaign of provocation without fear of arrest or prison. The burning question that now cries out for an answer is why.

Why was Raviv never seriously prosecuted and why didn't Attorney-General Michael Ben-Yair order the Shin Bet [Shabak] to immediately curtail its illegal undercover activities?

Who was behind these decisions?

Moreover, how far up into the Justice Ministry and Prime Minister's Office did the discussions concerning Raviv reach?

Who exactly was behind the decision to give Gillon and Raviv carte blanche to continue to infiltrate and incite?

Who permitted Rabin and the Labor Party leadership to utilize the Israeli security services to discredit Netanyahu and the Likud?

Ma'ariv, November 23, 1995

The issue today is the question if Rabin was called to the Shabak head's office after he condemned Netanyahu in the Knesset for the Nazi uniform scandal to be told, "Mr. Prime Minister, you must know that the people who distributed the leaflet were not our political enemies but our own agents".

************

Yediot Ahronot, November 24,1 995

I can't believe the government itself distributed the leaflet showing the prime minister in a Nazi uniform. I'm certain the Shabak would never have gone ahead with this kind of operation on its own. However, the government exploited the issue viciously to wound the rival political camp which is made up of half the population.

It's a scandal. I don't know who decided on the operation that so slandered the prime minister and led to his demise. It's possible that the Shabak agent who distributed the leaflet had something to do with that.

************

Ma'ariv, November 20, 1995

The editorial staff of Ma'ariv asks the police and Justice Ministry...Why haven't you revealed which printing house published the leaflet and why haven't you found the person who ordered the printing?

************

Yediot Ahronot, November 20, 1995

Since Rabin's murder, claim Likud spokespeople, their political opposition has waged a cynical campaign aimed at blaming them for the incitement culminating with the poster of Rabin in a Nazi uniform, which led to the
murder...

Benny Begin asked: "Did the Shabak report to the politicians, before or after the rally, that their agent Raviv distributed the leaflets of the prime minister in a Nazi uniform?"

The difficult question is, did the political establishment know of Raviv's responsibility and cynically exploit it to gain politically by humiliating Binyamin Netanyahu?

Says Binyamin Netanyahu: "If even a part of what is being revealed is true, then there exists a serious threat to our democracy. We demand a full inquiry. We won't permit a coverup.

Immediately after the assassination, the media broadcast numerous claims that Netanyahu killed Rabin by creating the atmosphere which bred the killer. The "proof" of this absurd contention -- in fact, Netanyahu was a suspiciously weak opposition leader -- was always the poster of Rabin in the S.S. garb which he allegedly refused to condemn.

In the name of this Shabak-organized pre-assassination incitement, the police were far too ready to initiate a campaign of repression. The Justice Ministry passed a law making a broad definition of incitement illegal, and the roundups began.

Three rabbis accused of declaring Rabin a persecutor were held for questioning and one was imprisoned without charge for months. An Israeli farmer who expressed satisfaction with the murder during a C.N.N. interview was imprisoned for expressing an inciteful point of view. Shmuel Cytryn of Hebron, who exposed Raviv as a Shabak agent two months before the assassination, was arrested and imprisoned in solitary confinement for four months without ever being charged. Dozens of political opponents were arrested and jailed under Administrative Detention orders which permit arrest without charge. A well prepared clampdown and witch hunt of people opposed to the "peace" process gripped the nation and all because a poster led to an atmosphere that killed the now besainted former Prime Minister.

Netanyahu was humiliated time and again for his alleged role in the poster scandal. While Leah Rabin greeted Yasir Arafat in her home during the grieving period, she refused to host Netanyahu or even shake his hand when he offered condolences against at the funeral. Even a year later when he was prime minister, his attendance at a memorial service for Rabin was marred by protesters accusing him of as good as pulling the trigger by creating the atmosphere of hatred that spawned the murder.

But by now he [Netanyahu] was well aware of the truth. He knew that a Shabak provocateur was trying to force him out of the political arena by distributing the leaflets and displaying the poster. The May before, during his election campaign, he promised if elected to prosecute Avishai Raviv.

Yet after the assassination, while he [Netanyahu] was being vilified, he broke his promise to demand a commission of inquiry into Raviv's activities and after the election he broke his promise to prosecute Raviv.

Why wouldn't he [Netanyahu] want his good name and the good name of his party cleared?

Natan Gefen, a diligent researcher of the assassination, best known for acquiring a controversial and contentious death certificate from Ichilov Hospital certifying that Rabin was shot through the chest, thinks he knows why:

Before the election, I took the certificate to two Likud Knesset Members, Yossi Olmert and Dov Shilansky, fully expecting them to consider the political advantages of it. Olmert told me, "We don't need the document". A deal was cut, I'm sure of it. Labor didn't bring up Rabin's memory during the campaign and neither did the Likud. Peres stopped campaigning altogether, he threw the television debate with Netanyahu, he [Peres] was leading in all the polls by 4% the morning of the vote and he [Peres] still lost. Netanyahu got the full story from sympathizers in the Shabak and he agreed to hush it up in return for winning power. That's why the coverup is still going on like nothing changed after the elections.

Gefen's intuition proved right.

Two months later I was invited to a cabinet minister's office. The minister's spokesman informed me that the Likud had prepared a file containing which information about Rabin's murder would be released publicly if Labor utilized Rabin's name in the election campaign.

It was during such a witch hunt after the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin that I was interrogated, detained and unjustly deported from Israel.

The secular authorities didn't appreciate my article in Jerusalem (and read throughout Israel and now the world) that highlights the Temple Mount suffering under a Nazi-Muslim occupation against both secular and biblical law, illegally practicing religious discrimination daily against Jews and Christians, denying us freedom of entrance to our most holy site - the TEMPLE Mount - as the 1967 Law for the Protection of the Holy Places requires.

While Shabak interrogated me about the Temple Mount, they brought up Baruch Goldstein, asked me if I knew what a "rodef" is, trying to establish a pattern (that didn't exist) of support for vigilantes and ensnare me.

Consul General Edward Abington, Jr.'s letter to Representative Marcy Kaptur further PROVES that I was not deported for any plot or terrorist activity whatsoever as falsely charged in smear campaigns (evident to every honest person), but the official Israeli lie/excuse for my unjust deportation, as noted in the letter, is "AN EXPIRED VISA."

First Temple artifacts found in dirt removed from Temple Mount

First Temple artifacts found in dirt removed from Temple Mount
By Nadav Shragai, Haaretz Correspondent

The project of sifting layers of Temple Mount dirt has yielded thousands of new artifacts dating from the First Temple period to today. The dirt was removed in 1999 by the Islamic Religious Trust (Waqf) from the Solomon's Stables area to the Kidron Stream Valley. The sifting itself is taking place at Tzurim Valley National Park, at the foot of Mount Scopus, and being funded by the Ir David Foundation. Dr. Gabriel Barkai and Tzachi Zweig, the archaeologists directing the sifting project with the help of hundreds of volunteers, are publishing photographs and information about the new discoveries in the upcoming issue of Ariel, which comes out in a few days.

The bulk of the artifacts are small finds - the term used for artifacts that can be lifted and transported, rather than fixed features. The dirt was removed in the course of excavating the mammoth entrance to the underground mosque built seven years ago in the southeastern corner of the Temple Mount. The Waqf and Islamic Movement in Israel separated dirt from stones, then used the ancient building blocks for rebuilding, in case the police barred construction materials from being brought in.

Most of the finds predate the Middle Ages. The finds include 10,000-year-old flint tools; numerous potsherds; some 1,000 ancient coins; lots of jewelry (pendants, rings, bracelets, earrings and beads in a variety of colors and materials); clothing accessories and decorative pieces; talismans; dice and game pieces made of bone and ivory; ivory and mother of pearl inlay for furniture; figurines and statuettes; stone and metal weights; arrowheads and rifle bullets; stone and glass shards; remains of stone mosaic and glass wall mosaics; decorated tiles and parts of structures; stamps, seals and a host of other items.

The sifting project is precedent-setting: This is the first time dirt from any antiquities site is being sifted in full. Among the many volunteers are soldiers, tourists, high-school students and yeshiva boys. Visitors over the past few months have included ultra-Orthodox MKs and rabbis, who usually steer clear of archaeological digs.

When the dirt was originally trucked out, the late director of the Israel Antiquities Authority, Amir Drori, termed it "an archaeological crime," and the attorney general at the time, Elyakim Rubinstein, said it was "a kick to the history of the Jewish people. Now it turns out that the dirt removed from the Temple Mount harbors thousands of small finds from diverse periods.

The oldest artifacts found are remnants of tools like a blade and scraper dating back 10,000 years. Some potsherds and shards of alabaster tools date from the Bronze Age - the 3rd and 2nd millennia B.C.E. (the Canaanite and Jebusite eras). Only a handful of potsherds were found from the 10th century B.C.E. (the reigns of King David and King Solomon), but numerous artifacts date from the reigns of the later Judean kings (the 8th and 7th centuries B.C.E.), such as stone weights for weighing silver.

The most striking find from this period is a First Temple period bulla, or seal impression, containing ancient Hebrew writing, which may have belonged to a well-known family of priests mentioned in the Book of Jeremiah.

Many other findings date from the Persian period (Return to Zion), Hasmonean, Ptolemaic and Herodian periods, as well as from Second Temple times. Second Temple finds include remains of buildings: plaster shards decorated a rust-red, which Barkai says was fashionable at the time; a stone measuring 10 centimeters and on it a sophisticated carving reminiscent of Herodian decorations; and a broken stone from a decorated part of the Temple Mount - still bearing signs of fire, which Barkai says are from the Temple's destruction in 70 C.E.

The project has also yielded artifacts from the Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman and Early Arab periods. According to Barkai, the Byzantine finds radically alter the assessment that the Temple Mount was empty at that time.

Barkai and Zweig reject doubts cast by other archaeologists on the source of the dirt. They state that eyewitnesses monitored the trucks that removed the rubble, and that they have internal evidence that further confirms the dirt came from the Temple Mount.

David Ben-Ariel was deported for plot to blow up Al-Aksa mosque?

David Ben-Ariel, an American member of the Temple Mount Faithful, was deported from Israel in 1996. After six and a half hours of interrogation, by six different Israeli secret service men, about an alleged plot to blow up the Al-Aksa mosque on the Temple Mount, Ben-Ariel was released while the investigation continued on condition they kept his American passport and he report back daily at 9 am.

Following such a harrowing experience Ben-Ariel contacted Bill Hutman of The Jerusalem Post whose front page article "GSS Seeks to deport American for plot to blow up Al Aksa mosque," appeared on January 8, 1996. The very next day, the eve of Ben-Ariel's 36th birthday, the obviously irritated police detained him until his deportation nearly three weeks later, since, as The Jerusalem Post reported, they lacked hard evidence to bring him to trial and he strongly denied the allegations, charging the Israeli authorities with politico-religious persecution.

Ben-Ariel, a Christian-Zionist, is a very prolific writer and the author of Beyond Babylon: Europe's Rise and Fall. Immediately before David's interrogation, detention and deportation from Israel, his article "Will Jerusalem Become An International City" was published in Jerusalem within The Traveller (popular among tourists and backpackers) and read throughout Israel. It highlighted the plight of the Temple Mount under Muslim control - a Muslim control that illegally practices religious discrimination against Christians and Jews with Israeli consent - and expressed a statement of faith (shared by millions of Christians and Jews) that the mosques would soon be history and the Temple Mount would be restored as the Temple Mount with the Third Temple.

Since Ben-Ariel's deportation he has utilized his experience and shared it with a worldwide audience via the internet, numerous articles and forums, tirelessly campaigning to change the deplorable status quo of the Temple Mount, attracting the attention of many writers, politicians, leaders of various groups and organizations and people of faith.

Several of Ben-Ariel's articles relating his ordeal:

Arrest Arab leader who flouts Israeli law!

“Any attempt to build a synagogue on the Temple Mount will immediately plunge Israel into a bloodbath” stated Knesset Member Ibrahim Sarsour of the United Arab party Ta’al. (JPost, 10/11/06) Referring to a proposal by Uri Ariel of the National Union/National Religious party “to revive an old idea to build a synagogue on the Temple Mount and reverse a cabinet decision that prohibits Jewish prayer there,” (Ibid) Sarsour stated, “Muslims and Arabs will not stand idly by while representatives of Satan on earth try to launch their insane plots. (Ibid)

Why does Israel enable such a treacherous Arab leader to threaten war and incite against Christians and Jews, flouting the 1967 Law for the Protection of the Holy Places?

Women in Green: The Temple Mount

THE TEMPLE MOUNT

Letter from Ruth Matar (Women in Green) Jerusalem
Thursday, October 12, 2006

Dear Friends,

According to the Hebrew poet Uri Zvi Greenberg (1896-1981), "whoever controls the Temple Mount controls the entire land of Israel!"

And now, in the Hebrew year 5767, 2006 C.E., the Arabs are threatening a "blood bath" if the Jews dare build a synagogue on their own holiest site, the Temple Mount, as proposed by Uri Ariel, a Jewish Knesset member of the National Union - National Religious Party. (Headline in the Jerusalem Post of October 11, 2006: "Arab MK threatens bloodbath over plan for Temple Mount shul")

Knesset Member Ariel said his proposal would maintain the status quo and not infringe on Muslims "right of full access to the Aksa Mosque, which is situated on the ruins of the Second Temple.

Ariel said it was abnormal that the most holy Jewish site in the world was off-limits to Jews as a place of religious worship.

How did we arrive at this ludicrous state of affairs?

By not asserting our inalienable right to our G-d given homeland and our holy sites therein.

The following are excerpts from a previous article of mine. You may see the whole article at:
http://181818.org/green/blog/index.php?mode=viewmonth&month_no=07&year=2004 Scroll down to July 29.

Since June 7, 1967, when the Temple Mount was liberated, only Muslims have been allowed to pray on the Temple Mount, by order of then Defense Minister Moshe Dayan. Dayan insisted that Jews be allowed to visit the Temple Mount, but not to pray there. Dayan gave an explanation for his scandalous decision as follows: Since for the Muslims the Temple Mount is a Muslim Mosque for prayer, while for Jews it is merely a historical site recalling the past, the Arabs are not to be disturbed in acting there as they do now, and the right of the Muslims to control it must be recognized. How sad, no, how tragic, that Dayan was an assimilated Jew and completely ignorant of Jewish religion and unfeeling toward Jewish tradition.

Dayan's terrible decision is still in place. Only Muslims are allowed to pray on the Jewish Temple Mount, and Jews and Christians are forbidden to do so. They are even forbidden to move their lips in prayer!

Ariel Sharon, soon after his election as prime minister, went up to the Temple Mount in September of 2000. A new wave of terror started immediately, which had been planned by Arafat for several months.

Even though Sharon supposedly defied the whole Arab world by going up to the Temple Mount, he subsequently showed no interest whatsoever in claiming Jewish ownership of the Temple Mount, which is the holiest place in the Jewish religion.

He permitted the Arabs to build additions to their Mosques using heavy machinery, and looked away when the Arabs wantonly destroyed Jewish artifacts from the First and Second Temple periods. This was done deliberately by the Arabs to destroy any evidence of prior Jewish presence on the Temple Mount. (Some such artifacts, which had not been destroyed, have turned up on the world antiquity market at tremendous financial gain for the Arabs.)

When Israeli archeologists warned Sharon of dangerous cracks in the Southern Wall of the Temple Mount, and cautioned against the Southern Wall's imminent collapse, the Sharon government called in Jordanian engineers to do the necessary repairs. This in spite of the fact that Israel has engineers who are just as good, and probably better. Was this Sharon's way of disavowing his interest in the Temple Mount as a Jewish Holy place?

Unfortunately, we have now arrived at a point when a "post-Zionist leftist oligarchy consisting of consecutive Israeli governments, secular Israeli courts, and the leftist media, subjugate us, both physically and spiritually.

Incredibly, we are not allowed to build our homes in our biblical homeland of Judea and Samaria without U.S. State Department permission. Our government has promised our only "friend", the United States, not ever to do this!

If "illegal outposts" are built by some idealistic religious young couples, who feel subject to a Higher Authority, they will be forcibly and brutally removed, as was done by the Olmert government in Amona. Of course, Ehud Olmert did make promises to Condoleeza Rice! Does Olmert feel promises to Condi are more important than the promises to the Jews by the G-d of Israel?

Dear Friends:

This concerns all of us! Move heaven and earth, but don't let the Moslem enemy gain additional control of our Temple Mount. Please share with us suggestions as to how we can work together to prevent this from happening.

May we be worthy of redemption and may the Third Temple be built speedily, and in our days.

With Blessings and Love for Israel,

Ruth Matar

P.S. My son (and Nadia Matar's husband), Dr. David Matar, has contributed a historical background on the Temple Mount:

Jewish tradition, from its very beginnings, has seen the Temple Mount in Jerusalem as the very center of the universe, the focal point of G-d's connection to the Jewish people and all of mankind. The Torah relates in Genesis that the near-sacrifice of Isaac took place atop Mount Moriah, which was identified with the Mountain of G-d, the Mountain of pilgrimage that is the Temple Mount.

After King David founded Jerusalem as the capital of the kingdom of Israel, he purchased land with a granary from a Jebusite named Aravna; David's son Solomon built a magnificent Temple there that stood for 400 years. Solomon's Temple was designed and built as a permanent shrine on a grand scale, which would replace the Tabernacle that had served the Israelites in the desert, and in various temporary locations within the Promised Land.

Although destroyed by the Babylonians in their conquest of Judea, the temple was rebuilt by the returning exiles, and served as the center of Jewish spiritual and material life for the next 600 years. In the reign of Herod the Great, near the beginning of the Common Era, the Temple was completely refurbished, while the Temple Mount almost doubled in size – all in order to accommodate millions of pilgrims, Jews and non-Jews from all over the known world.

Almost 2000 years have passed since the Romans destroyed the Second Temple; yet committed Jews throughout the centuries, in all the lands of their exile, have prayed in the direction of their ruined Temple. To this day, Jews focus their hopes, dreams and prayers on the speedy rebuilding of the Temple, as the central condition for national and cosmic redemption.

Israel is not expressing objections to the construction of a fifth Temple Mount minaret, in line with Jordanian plans.

Jordan’s King Abdullah II announced plans this week to construct a fifth minaret on the Temple Mount, a move that would further increase the Islamic occupation of the site, the holiest site to the Jewish People. Ironically, shortly following the liberation of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount in the 1967 Six Day War, the Israeli government decided to return the keys to the Mount to the Islamic Waqf Authority, under Jordanian control, permitting the continued occupation of the holy site until today.

While tenacious yearning to visit the Mount by Jews has resulted in a modicum of government acquiescence, religious Jews are often barred from the holy site, as are members of other religions, compelled to bide by the standards set by the Islamic occupiers. Jews who adhere to the strict religious requirements demanded of visitors to the site cannot visit at will, and while there are generally visitation times during which Jews and other non-Muslims may ascend the Mount, the Waqf will not ‘tolerate’ Jews praying on the site. They are backed by Israel Police who are quick to enforce the prayer ban, generally arresting those bold enough to defy it.

The latest Jordanian construction process will begin early in 2007. The plans call for a 42-meter-high tower in the area near the Golden Gate, near the eastern wall of the Mount.

Jordanian official Dr. Raief Najim, a senior personality involved in the project, was quoted by The Jerusalem Post as saying that to date, he has not detected any Israeli objections to the project. He said he has already toured the proposed building site, accompanied by a senior Jerusalem district police official, a national government representative, and an Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) official - signaling passive approval by the various governmental agencies.

Jordanian authorities have already announced a building tender for the project, which carries a NIS 2.5 million price tag.

While Israel continues to claim control of the Temple Mount, in reality, the day-to-day running of the site is under Waqf control, with Israel complying with Waqf dictates regarding the goings-on on the site. When Waqf requests are not honored by the Israeli government, threats of violence have on many occasions accomplished the Waqf’s goals.

The Temple Mount was the home of the First and Second Temples, and will house the Third Temple in the future. It remains the holiest site to the Jewish nation, far more sanctified than the Kotel (Western Wall), which is merely a retaining wall of the Mount.

Synagogue Mount?

Synagogue Planned For Temple Mount, Hashemites to Add Minaret

By Ezra HaLevi

MK Uri Ariel (National Union) is drawing up plans to construct a synagogue on the Temple Mount, Judaism’s holiest site. Jordan's King Hussein plans to build a fifth minaret on the site as well.

The synagogue would be build upon the Temple Mount, but in an area that is indisputably not within the areas that require immersion and other preparations, according to Jewish law.

Ariel says that the synagogue would not change the Muslim status quo on the mount, which is home to the Al-Aksa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock.

“This is not a new idea,” Ariel stressed, “it has been brought up and considered countless times since the [1967] Six Day War [during which the Temple Mount was liberated from Jordanian occupation –ed.].”

The plan will be submitted to the Jerusalem municipality and the Committee for Design and Construction for approval. Ariel says that every aspect of the plan will be submitted to leading Torah scholars for approval.

The National Union MK, who visited the Temple Mount himself Monday, said that such a plan was an opportunity for the Muslim world to prove it is capable of rising above the violence and intolerance that have surfaced in the past year as a result of papal remarks and political cartoon portraying Islam’s founder Muhammad. Referring to Ariel's visit to the holy site, MK Talab el-Sana (Ta’al) said the “provocation” would bring nothing but “war and bloodshed.”

MK Ariel points out that every ruling by Israel’s Supreme Court regarding the matter of the Temple Mount has recognized the right of every Jew to pray on the Temple Mount. “This is rectification of a historic injustice, much more than the transport to Israel of [Theodore] Herzl’s children’s bones [as was done recently, in accordance with his wishes ed.].

"Since the destruction of the Holy Temple, the loss of our independence and the start of our exile and oppression during the destruction of the Second Temple, the Jewish presence at the site of our temple has always been an unmistakable symbol. The Romans, Byzantines and Crusaders expelled us and prevented Jews from entering Jerusalem, because they couldn’t stand to allow the Jewish nation to serve its G-d at this holy site. This synagogue will not interfere with believing Moslems who wish to pray at the Al-Aksa Mosque. On the contrary, this is an opportunity for the Moslem world to demonstrate and prove that it is tolerant enough."

Meanwhile, Jordan's King Abdullah II has donated a huge carpet to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and has announced a contest to design a fifth minaret for the mosque. The existing minarets have been affixed with green neon lights in recent years, dominating the Jerusalem skyline. The planned minaret would be constructed along the eastern wall of the Temple Mount and would be clearly visible towering above the Western Wall.

The project requires approval by the Israeli government before it can begin.

SUKKOT AND THE SEVENTY NATIONS

SUKKOT AND THE SEVENTY NATIONS

My Firstborn Child Series -- Essay #55

copyright (c) 2006 by Mr. Yosef Ben Shlomo HaKohen

R&B Editor's Note:

Today, Friday, October 6, is the thirty third anniversary of the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War (October 6, 1973 --- October 6, 2006).

Israeljustice.com [http://www.israeljustice.com/news2.asp?key=16] has just reported that the "government" of the "State" of Israel -- on the very Eve of Shabbat and Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles, 5767 -- has, in its arrogance, impudence and open rebellion against the G-d of Israel, issued expulsion "orders" against thirty Jewish Pioneers in Judea and Samaria: "GOVERNMENT ISSUES EVICTION ORDERS" (Israeljustice.com, Friday, October 6, 2006).

That being the case, the R&B Editor believes that a second, heavier, devastating dose of "missile therapy" -- Yom Kippur War II -- will soon be administered to the Zionist Entity, as a follow up to the unsuccessful "missile therapy" administered to that Entity during the Three Weeks of Repentance War in July-August, 2006 ("unsuccessful" as there was little or no Israeli national repentance for the Sin of the August, 2005 Gush Katif Expulsion, during the following year, from August, 2005 through August, 2006; and this additional act of rebellion shows there has been little or no national repentance in the two months following the July-August, 2006 Three Weeks of Repentance War).

Excerpt from "Sukkot and the Seventy Nations":

"On the first day of Succos, we read a section from the Book of Zechariah which tells the following story about how HaShem alone shall be exalted on that day: Before the final redemption, an international military force representing the nation-states of the world will invade the renewed Jewish community in Jerusalem. The ancient hatred of our People will have surfaced, and these nations will attempt to eliminate our presence in Zion.

Our endangered People will be saved, as 'HaShem will go out and wage war with those nations' [Zechariah 14:3]. The defeat of their armed forces through the open and miraculous intervention of the Compassionate One will lead to universal spiritual renewal, and all will acknowledge the unity and sovereignty of the Compassionate One.

As the Prophet states:

'It will be a unique day, known to HaShem, neither day or night, but it will happen towards evening that there will be light. And on that day, living waters will flow out of Jerusalem, one half towards the eastern sea and one half towards the western sea; in summer and in winter will it last. And HaShem will be the sovereign over all the earth; on that day, HaShem will be One and His Name will be One'".

[Zechariah 14:7-9]

YERUSHALIYIM, Israelite Tribal Territories of Judah and Benjamin, Kingdom of David and Solomon, United Israelite Kingdom of Judah and Joseph, Erev Shabbat and Sukkot (Eve of the Sabbath and Feast of Tabernacles), Yom Shishi, Day 14, Seventh Month (Tishrei), 5767 (Friday, October 6, 2006), Root & Branch Information Services [mailto:rb@rb.org.il] [www.rb.org.il]:

Dear Friends,

We will begin to discuss the relationship of the earth's nations to the Festival of Succos (Tabernacles). According to the Torah, there are seventy primary nations which are the roots of the diverse national groups and cultures which we have today. This figure is based on the number of the descendants of Noah which are listed in the Book of Genesis, after the story of the Great Flood.

Seventy names are recorded, and at the end of the section it states, "These are the families of Noah's descendants, according to their generations, by their nations; and from these the nations were separated on the earth after the flood" [Bereshit/Genesis 10:32]. The Midrash therefore teaches that seventy nations emerged from Noah [Numbers Rabbah 14:12].

The Torah states that the festival offerings that we bring during the seven days of Succos include seventy bulls [Bamidbar/Numbers 29:12-34]. According to the Torah, there are 13 bull-offerings on the first day of the Festival, 12 on the second day, eleven on the third day, ten on the fourth day, nine on the fifth day, eight on the sixth day, and seven on the seventh day -- totaling seventy [Bamidbar/Numbers 29:12-34].

The Talmud explains that these offerings are on behalf of the seventy primary nations of the world [Babylonian Talmud/Tractate Succos 55b]. In his commentary on this Talmudic passage, the classical commentator, Rashi, explains that the purpose of these offerings is to seek atonement on behalf of the seventy nations so that the entire world will merit rain during the coming year.

Succos is also known as the "Festival of the Harvest" [Shemot/Exodus 23:16]. During the seven days of this harvest festival, we are to ask HaShem -- the Compassionate One -- to give the seventy nations continued life and sustenance through the blessing of rain. We seek their continued existence, as each of these nations has a unique purpose within the creation. These seventy offerings -- which were accompanied by the singing of the Levites and instrumental music -- serve as an inspiring reminder of our universal concern for all the nations.

Rashi, in his commentary on the biblical passage about these offerings, adds a teaching which seems to contradict the universal interpretation he gave in his commentary on the Talmud. In his Bible commentary, he writes: "The bulls of the Festival are seventy, corresponding to the seventy nations, and they progressively decrease in number, i.e. each day, fewer bulls are offered than the day before. This alludes to the eventual destruction of the nations" [Commentary on Bamidbar/Numbers 29:12-34].

In his commentary on the Talmud, Rashi states that the purpose of the seventy offerings is to preserve the seventy nations. In his commentary on the biblical text, Rashi adds that the decreasing number of offerings on each day alludes to the eventual destruction of the seventy nations. How do we understand this contradiction? In addition, Rashi's teaching regarding the destruction of the nations seems to contradict all the biblical prophecies which describe the redemption of the nations during the Messianic Age!

For example, it is written, "It will happen in the End of Days: The mountain of the Temple of HaShem will be firmly established as the head of the mountains, and it will be exalted above the hills, and all the nations will stream to it" [Yeshayahu/Isaiah 2:2]. How, then, are we to understand Rashi's statement regarding the "destruction" of the nations?

The beginning of the answer can be found in the following prayer that we chanted on Rosh HaShana (New Year's Day) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) regarding world unity: "Let them all become one society to do Your will wholeheartedly". The Divine goal for human history is one, unified society; thus, the decrease in the number of offerings each day is alluding to the elimination of seventy independent and competing nation-states that currently oppose the unifying purpose of the Compassionate One. Humanity will enter a new stage of history when there will no longer be seventy separate nation-states opposing each other; instead, there will be one society composed of seventy diverse peoples that will be aligned with Israel in the service of the Compassionate One.

The Prophet Zephaniah therefore proclaimed the following Divine message: "For then I will cause the peoples to speak a purified language, so that they all will proclaim the Name of HaShem, to serve Him with a united resolve" [Zephaniah 3:9].

Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch discusses the future demise of the nation-state in his commentary on Tehillim/Psalm 67:5. Rabbi Hirsch writes that there will still be diverse peoples, each with its own characteristics, but all these peoples will be united through their acceptance of the Divine sovereignty and through their fulfillment of the Divine will. In addition, the rulers of the nation-states "will retreat before God, back into the ranks of the peoples". Rabbi Hirsch explains that these former rulers will still work for the welfare of their peoples, but they will do so under the leadership of the Compassionate One.

Regarding this future age, it is written: "They will proclaim the Name of HaShem, for His Name alone is exalted" [Tehillim/Psalm 148:13]. According to the classical Bible commentator, the Sforno, this verse is alluding to the elimination of all forms of human sovereignty in the age when all will acknowledge the sovereignty of the Compassionate One, as it states: "Humankind's haughty eyes will be brought low, and men's arrogance will be humbled; and HaShem alone shall be exalted on that day" [Yeshayahu/Isaiah 2:11].

On the first day of Succos, we read a section from the Book of Zechariah which tells the following story about how HaShem alone shall be exalted on that day: Before the final redemption, an international military force representing the nation-states of the world will invade the renewed Jewish community in Jerusalem. The ancient hatred of our People will have surfaced, and these nations will attempt to eliminate our presence in Zion.

Our endangered People will be saved, as "HaShem will go out and wage war with those nations" [Zechariah 14:3]. The defeat of their armed forces through the open and miraculous intervention of the Compassionate One will lead to universal spiritual renewal, and all will acknowledge the unity and sovereignty of the Compassionate One.

As the Prophet states:

"It will be a unique day, known to HaShem, neither day or night, but it will happen towards evening that there will be light. And on that day, living waters will flow out of Jerusalem, one half towards the eastern sea and one half towards the western sea; in summer and in winter will it last. And HaShem will be the sovereign over all the earth; on that day, HaShem will be One and His Name will be One".

[Zechariah 14:7-9]

"Living waters will flow out of Jerusalem” -– In addition to the simple meaning, this alludes to the spreading of the Divine teachings which will cause all the nations to acknowledge the unity and sovereignty of HaShem [Commentary of the Malbim, a 19th century sage). The Prophet adds: "It shall be that all who are left over from all the nations who had invaded Jerusalem will come up every year to worship the Sovereign, HaShem, Who is God of all the hosts of creation, and to celebrate the Festival of Succos" [Zechariah 14:16].

"To worship HaShem"-– "The God of love of all the hosts of creation" (Rabbi Hirsch). Instead of serving a god of hatred, they will serve the universal God of love.

In their commentaries on the above passage, the Metzudas David and the Malbim cite the tradition that the defeat of the armed forces attacking Zion will take place during Succos. In order to commemorate this miraculous event which inspired the nations to acknowledge the Divine unity and sovereignty, pilgrims from the nations will journey to the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem each Succos. They will join us on the very Festival when we bring seventy offerings on their behalf.

We will then experience the fulfillment of the following Divine promise:

"My House shall be called a house of prayer for all the peoples".

[Yeshayahu/Isaiah 56:7]

Related Teachings and Comments:

1. A term for "people" in biblical Hebrew is am, and a term for "nation" in biblical Hebrew is goy (plural form -- goyim). The root meaning of goy is "body"; thus, Rabbi Hirsch explains that the term goy refers to the outer structure or "body" of a nation. Rabbi Hirsch points out that when verses in our Sacred Scriptures refer to the future destruction of evil nations before the dawn of the Messianic Age, they usually use the term goyim. These verses are therefore referring to the destruction of evil national structures, but not to the destruction of the peoples (Rabbi Hirsch's commentary to Tehillim/Psalms 10:16 and 67:5).

2. When the Compassionate One promised Abraham, our father, that a great nation will emerge from him, the Compassionate One added, "And through you, all the families of the earth will be blessed" [Bereshit/Genesis 12:30]. The verse does not mention "nations" or even "peoples"; instead it refers to families. The verse is therefore alluding to the final stage of human history when the relationship of all the peoples of the earth to each other will be a relationship of families. (This insight is from Dr. Isaac Levy, grandson of Rabbi Hirsch, who did an English translation of Rabbi Hirsch's German translation of and commentary on the Torah. Dr. Levy's comment appears in parenthesis in Rabbi Hirsch's commentary on Bereshit/Genesis 12:3).

3. The Netziv, a 19th century sage and Bible commentator, cites the tradition that during the reign of King Shlomo (Solomon), representatives from all the nations would come to Jerusalem during the Festival of Succos, when Israel offered seventy offerings on behalf of the seventy primary nations of the earth. The Netziv writes that during the intermediate days of the Festival of Succos, the sages of the nations who were in Jerusalem would hear King Shlomo share his teachings from the Book of Ecclesiastes [Herchav Davar on Bamidbar/Numbers 29:12]. The Book of Ecclesiastes was written by King Shlomo, and there is a custom to chant this book during the Festival of Succos.

4. At the dawn of the Messianic Age, when the peoples begin to acknowledge the Divine sovereignty, the Messiah will act as a judge who will help to settle the disputes among the peoples [Yeshayahu/Isaiah 2:4]; however, he will fulfill this role as a representative of the Divine Teaching, and not as an agent of human authority.

5. Shabbos and the Festival of Succos begin just before sundown today, Friday, October 6th (4:42 p.m., Jerusalem, Israel, time). The candles or oil lamps are lit before sundown. For further information on the celebration and customs of Succos, please visit: http://www.aish.com/holidays/Sukkot/

The festival of Sukkot - Tabernacles - completes the spiritual odyssey of this beautiful month of Tishrei. And it is truly a spiritual experience for all who participate in the Divine cycle of time that is the Hebrew calendar. Rosh HaShana, the Ten Days of Repentance and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement – with their soul-searching, cleansing and purification, give way to the incomparable joy of Sukkot as established by G-d's word: "And you shall only be joyous on your Festival" (Deut. 16:15). Sukkot has a deep connection to all the nations of the world and the prophet Zechariah (14:16) informs us that in the future, all righteous people will come to Jerusalem to celebrate the Festival together with Israel. May we merit to see that day together, in the rebuilt Holy Temple!

Introduction

There are good assassination conspiracies where the murderers never get caught. The conspiracy to murder Yitzhak Rabin was not one of them. It was a sloppy conspiracy and the murderers may eventually pay for the deed. They left too many indisputable clues to escape justice...if indeed, the Israeli political establishment is really interested in justice. For a variety of reasons, it may not be.

Yitzhak Rabin was a prime target for assassination. As prime minister, a peace process with the P.L.O. and Syria was forced upon him from abroad and he became a far too willing advocate of a diplomacy which was leading to Israel's sure demise. He faced mortal danger from two opposing camps; the minions of Israelis who fought the so-called peace process and the foreign and Israeli power brokers who devised and supported it. The former were blamed for the murder while the latter were responsible for it.

However, be forewarned; this book does not delve into Rabin's murky diplomatic ties nor does it name who gave the order for the assassination. The reason is simple enough; the author doesn't know who was at the top of the conspiracy. Nonetheless, readers of this book will discover who had to have been in the operational level. The purpose of this book, then, is to prove that Rabin could not possibly have been killed by his accused murderer, Yigal Amir. The author completely succeeds at that task.

To keep the peace process on track, it was vital that all opponents to it be de-legitimized. Opposition came from all quarters in Israel, even from within Rabin's Labour Party which saw a faction break off and eventually join the later Likud-led government. But the most vocal opponents were religious, right wing and often, Sephardi.

The alleged murderer of Rabin, Yigal Amir was all three. He was the most politically useful patsy that could be devised. Yigal Amir was an activist of an intelligence front organization called Eyal. It was created by the General Security Services (Shabak) and the man in charge was Avishai Raviv, a Shabak agent since 1987. His assignment was to attract anti-peace process radicals to Eyal and set them up for arrest. One of his duties was to provoke Yigal Amir into shooting Rabin and the author has gathered ample testimony from people who witnessed his [Raviv's] methods.

Many, if not most of the Shabak agents, and possibly several policeman on duty the night of the assassination were instructed to allow a sting operation to take place. Yigal Amir would be provided with a gun without real bullets in the clip. He would shoot a blank at Rabin and be caught red-handed. Rabin's government would then have the justification to order a nation-wide crackdown on opponents of the peace process.

And indeed, after Rabin was shot, Shabak agents yelled "They're blanks", "It was a toy gun", "It's an exercise", "They were caps", "It wasn't real", "Dummy bullets", and the like because they thought a sting had taken place.

But there was a double cross. Amir shot his blank bullet and Rabin, very much alive, was shoved into his limousine where the real assassin waited. The vehicle conveniently got lost and the one minute trip to the hospital took over eight minutes down the dark streets of Tel Aviv. During that time the murderer completed his job and left the car.

That is not speculation nor, in the author's opinion, even theory. That is what happened and the following book will prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt. The author has collected hundreds of pages of police reports, court protocols, public and personal testimony in a mostly successful attempt to solve this deadly mystery.

Just a few of the clues the conspirators left behind include:

The "amateur" film of the assassination showing Rabin's back car door being slammed shut before he enters the vehicle. Someone was waiting inside the car for Rabin.

The same film documenting that Rabin's bodyguards allowed Amir to take a clear shot at the prime minister and that he survived it.

Testimony from witnesses a few feet from Rabin, including his wife, who saw him continue walking briskly after being shot. Ten minutes after the "shooting", one witness, Miriam Oren, told a national television audience, "Rabin wasn't
hurt. I saw him walk into the car".

Testimony from numerous security and police officers who did not believe Rabin was shot because he didn't fall, cry out in pain, nor bleed.

Police laboratory tests concluding that Rabin was shot point blank, though the government's commission of inquiry concluded that Amir shot from a good half meter's distance.

The Police ballistics report stating that Amir's clip contained eight bullets, though he only loaded nine.

The unexplainable disappearance of the bullets for 22 hours after their supposed removal from Rabin's body.

The death certificate signed by Dr. Mordecai Gutman, one of the surgeons who operated on Rabin, stating that he was shot through the chest from the front and that his spine was shattered, claims backed the same evening by an operating room nurse, the Health Minister, the Director of Ichilov Hospital, a patient and even Foreign Minister Shimon Peres. The
official version of events has Amir shooting Rabin in the back with no spinal damage.

These are mere teasers. The conspiracy was so bad that besides abundant physical evidence left behind, the conspirators themselves didn't coordinate their testimony. So, one after another they contradicted each other.

The author personally believes the assassination has America written all over it. Compare Amir with the patsy of the J.F.K. drama, Lee Harvey Oswald:

Lee Harvey Oswald left the marines and flew to the Soviet Union on an intelligence assignment which saw him stationed in Minsk.

Yigal Amir finished his army service in a combat unit and was sent to the Soviet Union by an intelligence branch of the Prime Minister's Office which saw him assigned to Riga.

Oswald returned to America and became an activist for a C.I.A. front called The Fair Play For Cuba Committee.

Amir returned to Israel and became an activist for a Shabak front called Eyal.

Oswald was inexplicably befriended by a C.I.A. operative, Guy Banister.

Amir made a new friend, the Shabak operative, Avishai Raviv.

Oswald made certain he appeared on television in a street debate over Cuba.

Amir made certain he appeared on television being taken away from an anti-peace process rally kicking and shouting.

It would have been so simple if an aggrieved radical had actually assassinated Rabin. No one would have suspected a thing. But Amir had deep ties to the very people who were charged with protecting the prime minister. They arranged a fake assassination by the fall guy and let the professional hit man do the real work of murder.

Amir and Rabin were not the only victims of the assassination branch of the Shabak. There were many others, both Jew and Arab. We can only hope that this book will help see that they were the last.

Today was Yom Kippur, so I begin to write on a "clean slate," beginning with synagogue services (2 1/2 hrs.) last night to usher in this holiest of Jewish days.

I mainly went for the experience, as well as spiritual solidarity with my people (God's Church & the Jews) around the world. I read & sang only about a tithe of the service - amazed that I could keep up in Hebrew I'd never read before.

With me were other ulpanistim [Hebrew students] who elected to fast - mainly, I believe, for the experience or test or show-off of will-power. God alone knows. I scanned the faces of all those assembled in the make-shift synagogue with mixed emotions and an alien distance. Tradition - even empty, hollow, shallow - has assisted Jewry to preserve this Day, however imperfectly; yet I also couldn't help but think of God & Kahane who might dismiss such "worship" as vain and such "devotions" as void. Liberal, Hellenist, humanists who have nothing to do with God and are ignorant of or deny His Word as a general rule, as hypocritical & unacceptable as professing Christianity on the pagan days of Christmas and Easter - temporarily becoming "religious" or sickly kind...Nevertheless, may we all ultimately worship the One True God and His Son, in spirit & in truth. G'mar hateemah tovah! [Be inscribed for good in the Book].

During this relatively easy fast today, I laid in bed & read & read The Good News magazine, meditated on life, my past, present and potential future. I prayed & asked for forgiveness and clarity of mind & purpose with patience to overcome sins and achieve success in this spiritual struggle, resolving to start again to abstain from alcohol and stop going to our kibbutz pub on erev Shabbat [Sabbath evening]. Today I really missed Church services and fellowship with the brethren, remembering our divine camaraderie.

My goals were to spend 3 wks. in Florida with Steve & Bob, also to change my name to David Ben-Ariel, 18 days in Europe with Mom & Lisa, make aliyah to Israel and join an ulpan (intensive Hebrew language course]. So far, so good. Now I must decide - God help me - to continue immediately the ulpan in ketah bet [class b - next level] somewhere, or temporarily suspend Hebrew to earn money on a moshav... Presently I'm reading Hannah Senesh - Her Life and Diaries. The first 50 pages I found so boring and forced myself to read what seemed like fabricated Jewish propaganda - the girl seemed too good to be true, nauseatingly a goody-two-shoes. Now I'm enjoying it more since she's mentioned historic events, like Hitler, etc.

I've wondered if perhaps the helplessness and hopelessness I've experienced in returning to God is part of His punishment to cause me to think twice before going astray again - not that He's ever forgotten or forsaken me, just letting me wallow for awhile in my own mire. Thank God I'm convinced of His Calling, Purpose & Interest in my life or I would have died ages ago. Mrs. Corpus once commented on how God had given me that gift of FAITH.

I must fulfill my personal destiny as a Son of Jerusalem, publish my poems, chart called PRIEST-KING - The Twin Pillars of Israel, & book THE GRAND DESIGN [since published as Beyond Babylon: Europe's Rise and Fall]. I must, Lord-willing, RESTORE our Jewish-Christian presence in Jerusalem & Israel, a significant since I'm of Bet David [House of David].

We received our first official rain the other day.

Hannah S. wrote: "When anyone in Hungary spoke of Zionism five or even 2 years ago, Jewish public opinion condemned him as a traitor of Hungary, laughed at him, considered him a mad visionary, and under no circumstances heard him out." Reminded me of how I too, subject to ridicule or suspicion, am a pioneer for God's Church here in the Mideast. Mr. Fiedler [one of my former ministers in the Worldwide Church of God] had said once about my "activist" activities (of writing to The Blade, my beliefs & actions) that I was so "unorthodox" - I countered so was Mr. Armstrong, and like him, would go it alone if necessary, convinced of the rightness of my convictions. Later, somewhat angry or frustrated, he said, "Why can't you just be like everyone else who goes to the Mideast for the Feast [of Tabernacles], is satisfied and returns? Why do you have to always make inroads?" I said what he called "inroads" I considered "open doors" that I never sought nor pushed open, but walked thru in faith, and that I simply believed what the Church taught, that I'm descended in part from Bet David & therefore choose to return to my ancient Homeland of the Jews - Israel. He said he was German but didn't feel he had to move to Germany. I said that was his prerogative.

Earlier, he & Mr. Gilbert [his associate pastor] gently cautioned me not to appear so Jewish that I'd give people a wrong impression of the Church - like saying Shabbat Shalom, etc. I thanked them for their concern, commented I was already aware of the need to be balanced, but also that God had used my understanding of the Mideast to become all things to Jews & Arabs, more so than others in the Congregation. Then when H.Q.'s forbade my Mideast Feast attendance indefinitely, fearing I might misrepresent the Church (as a flagrant homosexual) [due to one complaint about me during the Feast in Jordan that contradicted the biblical procedure of Matthew 18:15-17, as Mr. Gilbert noted], it further encouraged me to think a separation was due [like the US was driven to separate from England after a series of injustices], a different work to be accomplished [with a God-given focus on Jerusalem and the Jews].

Years before I was sent back home from Israel, strongly encouraged to do so, and was to await a minister resident in Israel to "supervise" my "activities." [Church elder Carl Fields commented to me, "Are they setting a precedent?"] I've waited 7 years, Grandpa has now died, I've received my inheritance, toured Europe and now, almost 30 (potentially significant), am living in Israel studying Hebrew! I have felt drawn to Israel, desire to become a part of this ancient but young nation's history, and fulfill, ultimately, my destiny in Jerusalem.

President Bush on Yom Kippur

Bush lauds observance of Yom Kippur

JTA, THE JERUSALEM POST Oct. 1, 2006

In holiday greetings, President Bush said Jewish observance of Yom Kippur makes the world a more peaceful place.

"Yom Kippur is a solemn time to express thanksgiving that the Almighty remembers the names of all His children," said a White House statement issued in the name of the president and First Lady.

"During this blessed Day of Atonement, Jewish people gather in synagogues, consider their deeds and actions and celebrate as the sound of the Shofar proclaims the forgiveness and mercy shown by the Creator of life.

"As the High Holy Days come to an end, the Jewish people in America and around the world remind us of the gift of religious freedom and the blessings of God's steadfast love. On Yom Kippur and throughout the year, your deep commitment to faith helps make the world a more hopeful and peaceful place."

Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean, whose wife and children are Jewish, also issued greetings for the holy day. "My family and I ask all to join with the Jewish people to use this time as the beginning of a new era of peace and security," he said in a message.

President Bush would do well to note that not only Jews keep Yom Kippur but thousands of Christians faithfully observe the Day of Atonement. Perhaps one of his advisors could also inform him that the Festival of Tabernacles (Sukkot) and the Last Great Day (Shemini Atzeret) are on their way.
